I didn't think you were the kind of person to drink sugar water.

It's all he had! (non soda pop)  I was eating beef jerky..so I was a bit parched.

FWIW, I looked at the label...no sugar/fructose added....but plenty of sugar from the fruits.

Also had this weird pull tab top.  The pull tab pulled the bottle cap off.

Ok, cool then. I was just going by the web page that said water, sugar, etc.

Really?  Does it say that??  **EDIT** I see sugar now!  Letters are seriously small on the label...and I missed it!

Sugar? Who cares!  It's non-GMO, Halal, and Vegan Certified!  How PC can it get!  That's gotta be a 75% win.  Much better than my odds.  There was a Kit Kat on my desk this AM when I got here...I ate it.  GMO's (probably), def not Halal (as if I care), and most certainly not Vegan. Not a lick of soy anywhere.  But...sugar...fack me.  Give me sugar.  I'm hoping someone else doesn't want theirs...stack 'em on my desk.  I've got no issues with it.  ;D

Had the neighbors looking after our place for the month of July, they informed us that they left the sprinklers on for "at least a full 24 hours".  Got the water bill, it wasn't pretty. Almost triple the water consumption of the previous month and we were only home for a few days. Damn.

That's what you get for not having an automated system!

I figured someone would reply with that  :rofl2:  My system is pretty simple though, turn on when needed, shut off when done. Can't find good help these days.  ;D

My dad's system had some moisture sensor and would only water when it "needed" it.

Funny enough, the neighbour who left the sprinklers on has the same system. It's obviously too complicated as he can't operate a simple system such as mine.  :P

In all seriousness, I've seen his sprinklers running several times in the rain. Something's isn't "sensing" properly.

An automated system would be nice, I just can't justify the cost of the upgrade as we don't water much.  I guess a couple more times with the sprinklers left on would be my justification. Now I gotta go look at sprinkler upgrades.

^^ We have a simple timer that plugs in between the faucet and the hose. Have had a couple of them for a few years and they work great.

My dad always loved his lawn more than us kids.   :rofl2:

I remember there were no real residential lawn sprinkler systems "back in the day" for our size property.  So he had a semi-industrial one.  The heads were like 5" with a cast iron cover in them.

Now that he's getting older, I notice his lawn fetish has diminished.

Thanks for the suggestion Heli. I was just looking at automatic valves and timers, didn't realize they were so inexpensive. Does make me wonder though how an electric valve for $30 will hold up over time.

He said a "few years" for his.

$30 is cheap for a few years IMO.

We don't even have a lawn. Just a few shrubs and bushes that we like to give a good overnight soaking to every couple of days in the summer.

Ours have been fine for I think 3-4 summers now. The Gardena stuff seems pretty well built in my experience. We've got everything hooked up with those click connectors and it's really handy too.

Yup it is, but his isn't a $30 valve. What he posted is about $250, but if it works and lasts then it's a good solution.

Oh!!  I misunderstood.  Thought you were saying his was a $30 solution.

I don't know about these things since I let my grass die every year.

$250?!? I must have posted the wrong one. ???

Pretty sure we bought ours for maybe $60-80 each at Canadian Tire. Maybe they were on sale.

Okay, regular price $90. Wait for a sale. :) (can't paste the link, but it's there. 2 in stock at my store)
