Good luck. Hope it goes well.
It did!
I must add that St. Mike's was my account in my radiology sales days in the late 1990s, and it was my favourite place to visit. It was a church in the 1800s that was converted into a hospital during a diptheria outbreak. There's a serene vibe when you enter those doors.
Going there as the partner of a patient in 2015, I want to say that the staff at the clinic was simply amazing - kind, cheerful, welcoming and very forthcoming with information. Despite the apprehension we both felt about the procedure, we were made to feel at ease and in good hands. Stellar bedside manner on all counts.
I drove him home after all was said and done, and within an hour of my leaving his place, he was reporting that his first fragment had passed. Considering that the original stone (that was stuck in his ureter since June 30) was 1 cm, a >2mm chunk was a piece of cake. The technology did its job. He's a bit sore from the shock waves hitting his back for 30 minutes, but he is in good spirits overall.
Happy.
