Just caught Predator on TV...I never tire of this movie...

Same here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvMe33te0Fw

Ha!  I watched it too.  Almost texted Vmango and evil_twin to let them know it was on.  I can't help but watch it every time it's on (which is a lot).

It must be Friday if we're talking about Arnold.

Also, what made a many of those old campy action movies so good is that there were hugely satirical and didn't take themselves seriously -

Exactly.  There needs to be another great action star like Arnie that plays so well within his limits.

I must have seen Die Hard well over 20 times, still love it every time.

Die Hard is amazing. I've probably seen it over 20 times too. All those movies you listed are fantastic. It truly was the golden age of action movies.

I just don't get no one is Hollywood realizes all this re: the CGI. I really noticed it going from LOTR to The Hobbit (as your picture suggests).

I even thought the CGI in Mad Max was way too much, others on here seemed to like it.  It's like, how can you be amazed when someone is 100 feet in the air above an exploding tractor trailer, it's so far from reality your brain just can't even fake feeling that there is any danger.

Now Tooms... Tooms is f*cking scary!

Computers showed today instead of Monday at work, so I bicycled in to set them up. Short ride, no issues.

On the way home, 36oC and truck traffic. Not as much fun.  :P

I know, right?  I need to watch something more realistic to get my head around.  Like an alien that's 8 feet tall and has digital holographic camouflage and that can self destruct with a force of a nuclear bomb.  :rofl2:

BTW...were Blain and Mac the first gay lovers in a blockbuster action movie?  It WAS the first movie where someone handheld an M134 minigun.  You remember that scene where the forest was cut down with that thing?  Just. WOW.

Fun fact:  an entire species of spider was named after Predator and nearly every character in the cast.

Anybody else finding the images of Pluto fascinating?  It took the fastest spacecraft ever created (~60,000km/h!!) 9 years to reach.  Pretty interesting...

I've been trying to find it in the sky tonight with my telescope, but no luck yet.  It's a perfect night for it though so I'm gonna keep trying.

As part of my 911 repair, I need an alignment.  No local Porsche dealer, so the bodyshop said they'd send my car to MB dealer.  I call MB dealer.  I ask if he's ever done an alignment on a 911.  He says no and "it can't be that hard..just make sure it has no more than 1/2 a tank of gas before bringing it in".  WRONG!  Alignments on 911s are "full weight".  Full tank of gas, spare, tool set, everything.

Guess I'll be going to Porsche dealer in USA to get aligned.

Yeah, I tried the last night and the night before trying to spot it but I haven't been able to.  Mind you, I'm a very amateur astronomer so I'm guessing it's me.

Yea, I suppose it would be tough.  My bro the geologist is into this and has some motorized thing on his telescope.  And you can punch in the co-ordinates and gets you very very close.  Sorry I don't have better info.

I once saw the International Space Station with the naked eye.  Was neat seing it move across the sky.

My scope is powerful enough, but I need to do it all by maps.  Not easy.  This is the scope that I have.....mind  you I only have one.  lol
