So I was supposed to start at the new job Monday, but the former tenant was slow in moving out. My start date was pushed to today.
I went in and helped with unpacking and generally directed traffic. The computers ended up being back ordered, and won't arrive until Monday. So not much to do until then.

The company owner and his wife were down from Saskatoon and we had a meeting with the two other guys who'll be working in the office. It was all very positive. So far the vibes are very good.

At the end of the day, they took me to dinner and dropped me off at my house. Very nice couple. Very down to earth. At the end of dinner, the owner says that without the computers, there's not much sense hanging around the office, so take the rest of the week off and charge your time to overhead. Cool!   ;D
On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

One of the films shown last night was pretty darn funny, seriously, funny. It's titled 'Nowhere Fast' and was Directed by Josh Winker.
Apparently there is a full feature length script as well but here's the trailer for the short version below.

I seeee yooooou...

I'm clearly biased as a child of 80's but it is hard to imagine there ever being a more perfect action movie than Predator:

- Arnold at his peak
- Awesome supporting cast
- Sci-fi alien goodness
- military goodness (big ass guns)
- native villages to blow to smithereens in the jungle.

Without question my favorite action movie.

The first time I watched Predator was as a kid. I was watching tv at night and this movie comes on. I figured ok, an Arnold nam / Vietnam type of military movie. Great. The alien thing just came out of nowhere as I was watching. Fantastic ( I'm also a big sci-Fi fan)!

I think that's one of my favourite sci-Fi plot lines, very subtle without a bunch of time taken up trying to explain all the science / implications.

I love most of those 80's movies, Predator, Aliens, Terminator, Running Man, Total Recall, Die Hard.  I find them all watchable again and again, I never tire of them.

I was just thinking the other day that I wish they could make movies like those again.  I tried watching the new Total Recall, is was beyond shiite.

Less CGI, more make up and FX is what's needed, plus proper old school stunts.  I thin the golden age of movie crafting has been and gone, it's now just a bunch of computer artists seeing who can make the largest fake explosions and most unbelievable characters that your brain can't emote with.

Its still not Christmas around the Fobroader household till Die Hard one and two are seen, its not Christmas till John McClane comes over  ;D As for Predator, any movie involving Arnie, Jesse the Body Ventura with a minigun, lines like "You are one ugly motherf$%ker" and "DO IT, KILL ME NOW!!!" and a badazz space alien with a plasma rifle, claws and its invisible, is alright in my book.
Lighten up Francis.....
