The stripe is better than those nasty fender flares.  Is he getting it lifted and a set of 35's at least?  So wrong that, the way it is now.

Its lifted 2" at the dealer and he will be getting 35's

Lifted all the way around or leveled?  See lots of guys around here with leveled trucks, which, I suppose just means they will never tow anything.  I'm (just) guessing but I would bet they build them slightly lower in the front so that when you load the box or put a trailer on it, then it levels out.  Put a trailer on it with a leveling kit and suddenly your nose is in the air and you can't see the guy in the Fiat 500 in front of you.  Noobs.

Hopefully it'll look better when he puts the mud tires on.  I'm not a fan of those flares in any case...but at least it'll look more the part when the street tires are gone.

Apparently one cannot use the term "morons" on the CBC website. My comment had five ***** where the word moron would have appeared. Has this political correctness gotten out hand or what.

I was commenting on story on the CBC website, where some mountaineers were rescued after being trapped on Mount Logan for a few days. One person was very upset that taxpayers were paying for their rescue. These mountaineers did everything right after things took a turn for the worse. They waited 3 days before attempting to descend. It was only when they determined that things were only going to get worse, did they use their satellite phone to phone for help.
The poster really has a problem, he called them careless thrill seekers seeking attention .

So I was responding to this poster, that those individuals that go out hiking wearing a T-shirt, shorts and running shoes and no sense of what happens if something goes wrong and get lost and are so are ill prepared, yeah these "morons" should pay the costs for the search and rescue. Of course this rant also includes those who disobey "out of bounds" signs

I guess, I should have used the term, "these directionally impaired individuals"

The comments section on most news sites is just brutal. I'm sure they have programmed a list of words that are deemed unacceptable and to be blocked out, which IMO is understandable. They can't hire teams of people to read every post and decide on whether a particular word may or not be offensive given the context.

Not that there was anything wrong with what you posted, but maybe one could have gotten the point across just by saying "individuals that go out hiking wearing a T-shirt, shorts and running shoes and no sense of what happens if something goes wrong and get lost and are so are ill prepared ... should pay the costs for the search and rescue."

It's not "political correctness," just manners and decorum, and I think it's fair for the owner of the site to try to keep things civil.

With 110,000km though. Still. It's gorgeous. They were only thinking of a second car but this ad screamed "Buy me!!!" to them.

Yup.  That's the perfect automobile for me. So jealous.  Yesterday afternoon I was searching for a BMW wagon with a manual.  The only thing that came up was an '03 325.

Also, those are probably the best ad photos ever used in an autotrader ad.  Whomever took them knew how to use a camera.

Must be a pretty quick wagon too...the driver seat shows signs of "pucker factor" in the seat bottom.  ;D  That's gotta be a unicorn if there ever was.  How many would there be in Canada? 3?

Yes, beautiful car. I considered pretty much the same colour combo back in 2010 when I was shopping. Would have been a factory order with the manual, though - none of those on dealer lots. Not sure from the pics, but I don't think those are the sport package seats - bit of a bummer.

In the end, I'm glad I didn't get it. Don't want an AWD BMW, and friends who have one were less than impressed and just sold it. Partly because of FGC problems, and partly because they just thought it was "meh." But he was also coming from a 2002 (the car, not the year) and an E46 coupe.

Every now and then I look on the web for a RWD wagon from the States, but those are even rarer. Still just fantasy shopping, though. Very tempting, but I doubt I'd actually pull the trigger.

There are five or six 3-series wagons with a manual transmission on Vancouver Craigslist, 2002 to 2008, most with AWD. But none with the beautiful saddle brown leather interior.

Didn't they get bought out? That hardly counts as 17 years, does it?  ;D :stick:

Good luck on the new endeavor!

For the purposes of the company, it counts. Many of the people I've dealt with were the same. But yeah, it's a bit muddy.  :)

And thanks!

Last day at work after 17 years with the same outfit. New job starts in July.

I would kill for something like that.  Last 17 years I have had 7 jobs!  Not including my own landscaping I do on the side.  6 laid off, 1 fired after 5 months.  Owner says a few too many shipping errors, I admit that.  But I also suspect there wasn't enough work for me to do.  I would try and find more work to do, clean & organize the warehouse to be busy.  But didn't take long, where there was nothing to do.  He didn't want me doing more than what I was hired to do...

Just got laid off Monday, after 3 months.  Shoe distributor for 5 shoe brands.  The shoe stores already have the spring & summer shoes, and won't be ordering their winter stuff till October.  So they gave me the boot!

Upside, less stress juggling 2 jobs (previous and landscaping), playing baseball, taking care of the kids/house/cars.

Will miss the 3.5 km commute though....

6 laid off, 1 fired after 5 months.

???  That is either very unfortunate, or your need to pull your socks up.  I don't know you at all so am not judging, but is there some way you can train to get a skill that is more in demand? Or even more geared to what you want to do longer term?
