I've had a ton of mixed emotions over the last week during the holidays.  One minute I'm having such an amazing time with my two kids and playing with the with all of their new toys, and the next minute I'm breaking down missing my Dad immensely.  It's been a very odd holiday season to say the least.  Thank freakin' god that my two kids are at the perfect age for enjoying that Christmas magic.........if it wasn't for them this year I would of been completely lost I think.

Same here man and I feel for you.  :'( This is my first Christmas without any parents and my wife and I broke down at midnight on NYE after such an emotional 2014.

Thanks! I was just updating my calendar for a cycling event in June and remembered that is when my Dad passed. Really hit home as I miss him and we use to go cycling together. I got through Xmas fine but at the same time I kept my brother company in the hospital for the four days I was back home. Tough way to finish off the year.

I think I paid close to that for the 34" Toshiba CRT tv that I bought in the late 90's.  It was one of the first of the widescreen format HDTVs and weighed around 200lbs, but felt more like 400lb... :P  It included a heavy duty steel stand that weighed another 80lbs, or so.  I sold the tv to a coworker a few years ago for $200.  :)

my dad just bought a curved 4K TV for 1300...  :o   I told him, you are getting old, you can't even see that well...  he didn't care that he couldn't distinguish the pixels.. he wanted the curve.

My mom has one too, has a camera in it.  She is trying to figure out if she can do Skype with it.  Haven't gotten around to seeing if she can or not.

Went grocery shopping after work, had some time to kill, stopped into Canada Computers.  Nothing I really needed, but it was nice going into a store without having to be home right away, or watch the kids while shopping (no I don't feel awful).  Anyway, saw a 25 pack of Blu-Ray discs (Philips).   Backing up so pictures/clips right now.  First time I have used this Blu-ray burner in 5 years!

I feel for you guys too.  Christmas dinner sure was different this year without my Grandmother there.
