Moving tomorrow (Jan 2nd). At least we hired movers to do the heavy work. My back is already killing me.

Stop on 401 just before hi way 15, major white out conditions, at least 20 cars around us, causeway complete ice over

Looks like we are going to be stopped for hours, from the info from the cops, we about a 1/2 km from the blockage

Last year on New Year's Eve we went to Ottawa , roads we fine until Kingston then it was winter conditions , have to learn to stay away from Kingston

Or, better, watch the wind direction and temperature and then stay maybe clear of the lakeshore. FWIW the Weatherchannel lady early this morning did show the possibility of squalls off Lake Ontario

The roads were pure ice , one guy who blown pass me 5 mins early reared end a car ,
I slowed way before getting closed to stopped cars but was concerned about the car stopping behind me

It was 2 hours of waiting, then we got moving and decided to get off at at hwy 15 and head home
There was even a larger pile up by Bath exit heading eastbound.
There was about 6 inches of snow fallen at the on route gas station in then 3 hours

Get west of Napanee of it clears up, by Belleville there no snow

The first exit was hiway 15, got off the eastbound 401 , then got back on the 401 westbound to go back home

I've had a ton of mixed emotions over the last week during the holidays. One minute I'm having such an amazing time with my two kids and playing with the with all of their new toys, and the next minute I'm breaking down missing my Dad immensely. It's been a very odd holiday season to say the least. Thank freakin' god that my two kids are at the perfect age for enjoying that Christmas magic.........if it wasn't for them this year I would of been completely lost I think.
