Sitting on my rear deck watching a steady stream of beech nut shells raining down from the trees beside my deck.   :). Mostly blue jays but I think there’s a squirrel or two up there as well.

Getting ready for a long hard winter. :'(

They've been chowing down on the green pine cones at my place.  The leftovers looking like tiny corn cobs...
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Okay, this is cool:  I follow Mike Patey, an entrepreneur, serial inventor, and pilot who builds planes in his spare time.  He modified a Wilga bush plane, replacing the standard 150hp piston engine with a 600hp turbo-prop.  Anyway, he and some ace wingsuit flyers achieved something which had never been done before, which is fly a plane and a wingsuit in formation, to the point of actually grabbing a wingtip.  Really cool stuff:

I saw a video of a walk around of that bad boy, that is some serious ass bush plane. PT-6 is the only way to go for something that needs reliable, brute force.

Stopped by Pfaff Porsche yesterday... man I have Porsche fever bad...

Facta Non Verba

Action: Porsche fund set up, $2,000 $3,058.19 $5,058.19 deposited.

August is a three paycheck month so some got diverted :)

I think I may be out of parts cars and into actual running cars, albeit barely!
I love it when a plan comes together.

Moving the youngest back into his dorm for school. It’s raining. I didn’t bring a hat. Healed to keep your glasses dry.

Leaving town the lineup to cross the border was past the entrance into town. And the traffic heading south was nuts all the way to wpg. Hope Bubba wasn’t in it.  2-3 hr wait (or more) to go shopping in the US?  No effing way.

Last long weekend before school starts.  And despite the exchange rate, there will probably be smokin' deals on paper and pencils and summer wear, that even though you had to wait 2 or 3 hrs or more to cross the border, it will all have been worth it.  Plus you made hotel reservations so now you don't have a choice.

I see that line up and go - hell no!

Aren't there other secondary crossings that won't be as busy? I almost always go to the one in the middle of nowhere here because at most there might be two cars ahead of you and usually there isn't anyone.

Used to be one almost right in town on the Minnesota border but they closed that down years ago.  Mostly used by illegals now I suppose...assuming they can follow a road instead of walking through a field.  But even that seems to have died down.  Next nearest is about 12 miles west, and city dwellers have a hard enough time finding the border (thank god it's a straight shot south of Wpg  ;D) never mind something 12 miles west.

12 miles is nothing! Well worth detouring if it avoids a line at the border. I also find the more rural crossings to be easier in general. There doesn't seem to be as much scrutiny.
