On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

I guess Canada Post is working today.  Just pulled into my neighbours driveway for a delivery.

It is not a Federally holiday

One of those weird holidays.  Some malls are closed, some aren't.  Some grocery stores are, some aren't.  You bet your ass Service Canada centres are closed though!

I had to work monday and was just about the only vehicle on the way into work.  I had to drive about 2 hours to direct a construction crew on an install, waited around for a couple of hours and nobody showed up.  Made some more calls after i got really tired of waiting and found out the construction contractors had the day off.   ::)

We don't get the day off because we are federaly regulated.  :P
Your PM did not check on With the contractor on Friday to make sure it was a go for Monday !

  :rofl2:

Thought it was both an amazing and moving tribute to Gord and the Tragically Hip by Virtue and Moir.  I'm by no means a Figure skating fan, but these two are just incredible on the ice together.  Amazing that they've been skating together since they were kids.  So proud to be a Canadian.

so, apparently, my total Furnace heat output is rated at 210k btu.    120,000 for my bigger one, 90,000 for smaller one.

for a 2200 sq ft house.  39 years old furnace, still kicking hard.    doesn't even seem that inefficient.  my gas bill's only 200 a month so i'm not really in rush to replace it.

asked for a quote from national energy chain to replace both, and they came with 7700ish to replace 2 with 2 smaller ones at 92%, or 1 larger 110k btu at 96% for 7800ish.

not sure whether that's good deal as it's only the first quote.  will check with other furnace companies.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

Does that 2200 sq ft include the basement?

A new furnace will only  last you maybe 10 years, they are now built to wear out and be replaced.  They weren't making much money on furnaces that last over 30 years.

We're living in the future ::)

Effing clickbait headlines.

“... Furthermore, the dancers can choose to wear temporary QR tattoos as wallet addresses that can be scanned on a smartphone.”

That’s not a tattoo.  ::) Actual article should be called “Strippers accept bitcoin.” Yawn.
