Gorgeous night out. got on the on ramp, dropped the car down to 3rd gear, the turbo spooled up lots of boost with this nice cold dry air and the tires kept fighting for grip. Settled down, threw on the cruise, opened the roof, turned on seat heater and cranked some Dave Matthews Band. Some days I really enjoy driving alone.

Call them up and see.  Would be a good deal to get a new tankless heater every 4 years.  :)

More big trouble in VW land. Problems with the 1.8 and 2l turbo. No remedy yet. Dealers not allowed to deliver new affected vehicles.

Problem Description: Due to high load on the sintered cam which drives the high pressure fuel injection pump and the vacuum pump in the affected vehicles, the camshaft lobe has the potential to unexpectedly shear off from the camshaft. If this happens, vacuum pump power will be lost so that the pump will not deliver further vacuum supply to the brake booster, and reduced engine power (limp home mode) will cause the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) to come on.

Unexpected, increased need for braking effort after vacuum reserve has been depleted can lead to a crash without warning.

Corrective Action: PENDING – REPAIR NOT YET AVAILABLE

TOTAL AFFECTED USA: Approximately 91,800 CANADA: Approximately 17,200

New Vehicles in Dealer Inventory: It is a violation of Federal law for a dealer to deliver a new motor vehicle or any new or used item of motor vehicle equipment (including a tire) covered by this notification under a sale or lease until the defect or noncompliance is remedied. By law, dealers must correct, prior to delivery for sale or lease, any vehicle that fails to comply with an applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard or that contains a defect relating to motor vehicle safety.

Pre-Owned Vehicles in Dealer Inventory: Dealers should not deliver any pre-owned vehicles in their inventory which are involved in a safety or compliance recall until the defect has been remedied.

Link?

So... If they can't sell the TDI, the 1.8T, and the 2.0T.  What can they sell?  The 1.4T?

Saw one of Boeing's Dreamlifters go over this afternoon.  You could definitely tell the body was a lot bigger than any other jet.

Need to know which particular engines. There have been several 1.8 and 2.0 engines over the last few years.

That's what the dealers got.. doesn't specify exactly which models are affected, but it's only 2015-2016 MY.

So if it's only 2015-2016.  Wouldn't that mean the new 1.8T?  So it still makes me curious what can they sell?

So gut can't come install hot water tank until next week...  Not very impressed.

Called home depot and Lowe's neither of them sell propane tanks so I'm stuck.

Going to call another place in the morning
