If we are talking about audio files, there are no restrictions unless you are d/l from a paid streaming service. With my streaming service I can d/l to 3 separate devices which is more than enough for us. If you steal (torrent) your files, you can put it on as many devices you want. If you rip your CDs, no restrictions either.

With movies, if you bought the BD/DVD just use a ripper (many available) and you can put it on as many as you want. If you steal (torrent) same thing. If you use the d/l code I'm sure its limited to one device but those also expire so why even waste your time using it.

For movies, I buy the Blu-Ray, use it on many devices.  But with the code it was only limited to one device, so I gave up once my hard drive failed.  Which is my point that no system is perfect.  You need to get the physical Blu-ray to rip it.  Which is why I think they will be around for awhile.

I don't think a lot of people care about having a digital copy of movies and the rest just steal (torrent) what they want. Physical media is going away. Maybe not tomorrow but people that buy BD/DVD will be regarded like those who buy vinyl.  ;D

Talking of vinyl....I was in my local suburban Best Buy yesterday abd they had 3 different turntables on display  so somebody must still have some old records.  I do and haven't played any for many years.  I looked and saw that these 'tables all had some kind of digital out.    If I bought one I'd definitely want  3 outputs. Conventional phono, pre-amped and equalized to line levels and USB.

One thing about printed photographs, the format doesn't go obsolete.

This is why I still print photographs, who knows what the standard formats will be in 60 years time.  Good luck opening those JPG's & PDF's in 2075.  ;D

It's pretty hard to find a phono input on regular consumer amps and receivers nowadays.  The fix is pretty inexpensive, but does add another pre-amp.  https://jet.com/product/product/17b61751c2d6487cbf185a0e2bf8cc10

My wife has a couple hundred vinyls packed away.  I bought one of those USB turntables (around $100) a few years ago to convert some to digital
Was kind of neat listening to tracks on the ipod with the cracks&pops in the background... it is weirdly comforting...

Would like to get a proper audio set up including turntable etc.. I'd then have to invite quad over to tell me what to buy & set up... then he could deal with me and Railton dragging our arses in actually buying something   :P

When other teams play the Leafs, do their players have a competition to see who gets the first shot on Bernier?  Because it's almost a guaranteed goal.

So I think I just traumatized a little kid a few minutes ago.

Was driving home through a playground zone (was in no hurry - doing 30 km/h or a bit less) when I see a kid running towards me and yelling. He was a long way away, so I wasn't concerned, but slowed down a bit anyway. Then I see that the kid is running after a rabbit, which is heading straight for me.

Not going to swerve to avoid a rabbit I can hardly see, so just hear a thump, thump under the truck as the kid's eyes get really wide. Oh, well, life lesson I guess.

(BTW, this wasn't someone's pet. The neighborhood is overrun with feral rabbits. Damned nuisance, they are. One less will not be missed. )

OMG!  This reminds me of stories!!

A single laneway.  Traffic is moving very slowly.  A couple cars stopped on either sides of the road making it a tight squeeze.  A few people milling about.  Someone is crying.  Is it an accident or something?  So buddy slows down to like 5km/h...a crawl.  He's looking around trying to see WTF is going on while also trying to not hit cars on shoulder of laneway.  All the sudden, the crying and screaming intensifies.  WTF?  The car sloooowly drives over something.  Turns out someone had hit a cat.  Yep...my buddy just drove over that cat.  In front of everyone.

#2.  Driving home in the LS400 with IQ and her sister.  I see a rabbit running full tilt.  It's in a field some 50-60 feet away and further up.  I declare "Dead Rabbit".  IQ and her sis are like "WTF?".  Sure enough, 2-3 seconds later as I approach the rabbit runs out and I hit it.  This all happened at about 90 km/h.  They were both impressed and horrified with my called shot.
