Congrats.

New Kia interiors look really nice. Its a very cohesive styling approach for the 20-30 something urban crowd IMO

hopefully sometime soon, there might be a review in here for a Rio5 SX and the whoever writes it can take better photos than I.

You got yourself a nice little car there, DJ. IMHO the Rio is the best-looking subcompact out there, bar none. Congrats.  :winner:

Looks great - those rims look massive on that little car - nice!

You bought a great little car.  Kia's interiors lately have been very nice.  Congrats!

Nice car!! This would be near the top on my list if I was looking right now for a compact car. Good all round value.

I saw one of these on the road the other day.  Super sharp car,  I prefer it to the Accent.

One thing that struck me is that the rear window  appears to be tiny.  How do you find the rearward visibility?

Congrats on the great purchase.

I've checked them out, up close (haven't driven). It's currently the best looking sub-compact, and it looks good all over (interior, exterior, features, etc.). That combo (white, sunroof, and those wheels), looks especially great.

Kia's design are definitely very sharp. How is the view through the rear windows?

i finally saw another one today, albeit LX(+) trim...they are hard to get, so i am not sure where they are all going, because the dealerships here have a hard time getting them.

same here...while the Accent is a decent car, it didn't interest me at all.

it is a little on the small side, but honestly, you get used to it pretty quick so its a non-issue...as well, i have a back up camera, so that more than makes up for it.

it is kind of like when i had a Grand Marquis...the first little while the thing is a land yacht to drive around in, but after you get used to the size, you drive it and pull into parking spots, etc with no issues.

Of course it's beautiful.  It was designed by Peter Schreyer, the same guy who penned the Audi TT, the New Beetle and other automotive chef d'oeuvre.  Kia finally has a definite identity and some mighty nice looking cars.  The Kia Rio is one example, so is the Kia Optima (right Hammy?!).

Seriously good-looking ride.  Nice proportions from any angle.

yea, every time i see the car, i love the way it looks...when i get in a drive it, i still love the fact it is mine...it is kind of great, considering it was quite the 180 from where i was originally going for a new car...normally, cars in this size/price range are penalty boxes, but this is not that way at all.

Agreed.  This is one extremely sharp looking little car!

Hey DJ,

Congrats on the new purchase, looks great in white!!

I see that you also own a Elantra Touring and would be curious to hear what your thoughts are on both.  Roominess, handling, fit/finish, acceleration etc…

I’m currently looking at an ET as a replacement for an 04 Corolla but would also consider going even smaller with a subcompact.

Thanks
