Finished Yellowstone 1883 last night. My wife liked it but I have mixed feelings. It had good moments but overall was a bit to unrelentingly tragic/dramatic for my taste. You were always waiting for the next horrible thing to befall somebody.
Old Jag convertible...one itch I won't have to scratch again.

You're both right.  :)
Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

I do have to admit the ending was moving. Well shot and well acted.

Fall of the House of Usher. Dark. Macabre. Violent. Carla Gugino is spectacular AF. Not for everyone. But if the concept of Edgar Allen Poe meets Steven King meets Quentin Tarantino appeals to you, you'll probably enjoy it.

Netflix.

Anyone watch the three part series for The Continental based in the John Wick universe?

Better than the Wick movies in my opinion.

Couldn't get into it. Started to watch the first one but lost interest part of the way through.

Ahh, too bad.  The third and last episode was non stop craziness

I thought it was so depressing to be a waste of time.  Campy too.

We enjoyed it too, wasn’t nearly as scary as we were hoping but definitely worth the watch.  You know who I thought did an amazing acting job in it…old Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill.  I don’t think of him as a versatile actor but he did a great job in this role.

His Joker is spectacular in the Batman series.

SUPER impressed with Hamill in this series. Serious acting chops.

Just watched the first episode of the new Frasier. I loved both Cheers and the original Frasier and the reboot doesn't disappoint. Would love to see David Hyde-Pierce (Niles) to a guest spot. He was great in the original Frasier!

I wasn't a fan but my folks were so I sometimes got roped into watching those sitcoms.

I always thought Bebe Neuwirth character, Lillith, was very funny.

I agree. The Lilith character was well done. I think I read she has a guest spot in one episode of the new series.

Starting season 2 of Hotel Portofino. The British do this kind of period show so well. Great costumes, set decoration and photography. Amazing scenery although I read a lot of it was filmed on the Adriatic coast of Croatia.

Two recent winners for me.

Blue Eye Samurai - Netflix.

If you are into all things Samurai and depictions of 17th century feudal Japan, this animated series will be right up your alley. Mulan is for kids. This is definitely NOT. Gritty and sometimes grim - with a generous helping of Tarantino-esque violence. Fight sequences are epic, if somewhat unrealistic at times.

Lawmen: Bass Reeves

The long-neglected (for obvious reasons) story of one of THE most badass lawmen of the wild west, believed by some to be the actual inspiration for the fictional (and campy) character of The Lone Ranger. Truth definitely trumps fiction here. Well cast, high production values.

NB - I am two episodes into each series. Sometimes a series can start out well and nosedive. Here's hoping that doesn't happen with these.

I see season two of Reacher is out Dec 15. Can't wait. This season is based on Book 11 in the series "Bad Luck and Trouble"
Members of Reacher's old squad of MP investigators are being killed off.

Have you been catching new Rick and Morty? I think a subtle teaser was dropped last episode...

If anyone loves Samurai or loves Takashi Miike (13 Assassins, Blade of the Immortal, etc) then you'll LOVE Onimusha! And he resurrects Toshiro Mifume as the protagonist!

Beautifully animated and nobody tells a story like Miike!

Tried Lawman : Bass Reeves   I was undecided but my wife said "it's doing nothing for me" and wandered away after about 15-20 minutes.   I see Taylor Sheridan is one of the producers. I couldn't get into the various "Yellowstones" so......not hopeful.   1883 was the best of what i tried but that was largely due to Sam Elliot, LaMonica Garrett and (especially) Isabel May
