Saw a preview for series "Dinner with my parents". The cast look promising.

Recorded a couple episodes. Watched 1st one last night. Big disappointment. Promptly erased the other episode and moved on.
If you want more in life you have to make an effort.

Really enjoying the third season of Clarkson Farms on Prime.  Probably the best season so far and I really appreciate all the details around farming and the challenges that they go through yearly.

Partway through and happy it's still great. Wife isn't even from a farm and she finds it fascinating

Was visiting with a buddy and we were trading stories about how growing up on a livestock farm tends to give you a different view of death than regular people have

My wife and I also recently finished this series and quite enjoyed it. Neither of us have any background in farming either. I think Clarkson's character as the bumbling oaf would be entertaining in many different types of shows. My wife agrees as she is the furthest thing from a "petrol head" but quite enjoys watching Top Gear and the Grand Tour.

Started watching "American Rust" on Prime last week, about 7 episodes in on the 2 season series.  Finding it captivating.  Likely in my top 5 favourite series thus far, although I'm not a huge TV buff.

Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives.

Yep - we finished it. Dark, but very well done.

Dark Matter on Apple TV is a very interesting concept, enjoying it so far.  Ditto Outer Range on Prime, season two has been decent.  As you can see, we enjoy some strange stuff.

Lastly the new Comedy series on Netflix called Tires is quite funny, not appropriate for kids.

I've been trying to learn German for fun so I'm looking for German TV shows. I watched the Empress and really liked it.  Season 2 is coming out soon i believe

Isn't there couple German  Volks on hier?   you have some TV show you can propose?

Dark on Netflix.

Deutschland 83 though I don't think it's streaming in Canada.

Yeah, Dark was awesome. I watched it in German with English subtitles, but you could turn off the subtitles if you’re really keen.  ;)

My wife gave up on it after season 2, but I’m happy I stuck with it. Season 3 was actually really good, and I was surprised that they managed to wrap it all up in a way that sorta made sense.

I think my wife might have watched that show, was it streamed on Netflix with an option for dubbed over speaking.  Kind of a weird sci-fi show?  She really liked it but I wasn't sure if it was German or some other Euro language.

Thanks, Dark is on my list, Even if I only pick 2% of what they say.

Yeah, German sci-fi, time travel show on Netflix.

But my recommendation is only for the original version in German. If you’re going to listen to the horrible dubbing (and all dubbing is horrible,) don’t bother.  :P

That dubbing comment got me thinking. When I was living in Germany one annoying thing (for me) is all the English movies were dubbed in German. So not just the German stuff was in German, all everything was in German. Very different than the Netherlands which tends to just subtitle

Wonder if you got a vpn that would show your location in Germany, would Netflix then show you a huge range of stuff in German, not just what Germany itself puts out

Watching 'Mission Impossible' in German might be easier to learn from than some obscure German show

Yeah that's what I was thinking.  I though something like The Empress, being a TV show from the past, might be easier to learn on.

We started watching Lost on NF.  lol - 20 yrs old.  Wife loves it, we're just hammering away at it, 2-3 episodes per night.  I assume that at some point they will jump the shark though...they always do.

Nice finish to this year's Amazing Race Canada - underdogs won. All final 4 teams already had won at least one leg, so they all went home with prizes, and the most hated competitors got booted out on the previous leg - a poker player that lost on another team's risky bet  ;D

Other than that, we finally started The Crown and got hooked quickly.

Waiting for the upcoming new seasons of The Diplomat and The Lincoln Lawyer

If you liked Lincoln Lawyer and have Apple TV you should check out Presumed Innocent.  We finished that last night and thought it was good.

Watched the final The Grand Tour special.  Can't say it was anything special other than the fact that it'll be the last time these three gents will be doing a car show, which ends a 22 year run for them between Top Gear and The Grand Tour.  By no means was it a bad episode and they certainly chose some interesting cars to finish it off.

Also binge watched Succession on Crave and thought it was very good.
