how about a cts-v 556 HP

saw a CTS-V coupe yesterday.  ..  oh and c63 AMG coupe as well.     both looked so good. probably more expensive than 328 though.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

Totally depends on what you want. ???

All three are fine choices, although I think you mean C250 Sedan?
If he wants power and reliability he needs to look at a G37. ;)

+1

BMW 328xi      $39,950    230HP
C250 4Matic    $39,990    201HP
A4 Quattro      $39,700    201HP
G37x              $43,450    328HP

While the G is a little over $3k more in price, if you are looking for an AWD Sports Sedan, the 100 extra HP is well worth it IMO.

I agree and Japanese reliability as well.

I have to throw in a plug for the 328iX. I had occasion to drive our 328 some 80 kms on a winding, picturesque secondary road yesterday in the country following a 160km expressway drive @130kph. It really is about more than just HP numbers! For me both the cockpit environment and the driving "feel" of the BMW on both types of roads made the day a real pleasure. With all due respect to the G37x proponents here I think the two cars really are very different and which is the "better" car all depends on your priorities.

Btw, your colour of S2K was my first choice when I was shopping.  Although I really do love the NFR.

I just drove a G37X last week and was impressed.  But I did think the interior was marginal and although the motor was strong at the low end, it was definitely rough at high RPM.  Sufficiently so that the shifter buzzed incessently.  I am one who likes the exhaust note.

I also drove the new 2012 TL SH-AWD and although it lacked some of the low end, the engine was significantly smoother and was just as quick on a roll.  The handling was noticeably better.  I also thought the technology and interior were better but obviously this would be a personal call.

Seriously though, the handling was really impressive.  The grip was at least as good as my M3 and it had less understeer (when using the throttle).  I thought when R&T tested the Acura to within 0.4 seconds of the Audi S4 on their track, beating the G37 (non-x) that they were full of it.  But I guess not.

+1 on the Acura TL SH-AWD. I know the styling is polarizing to some (I like it) but I'm sure it would be very nice ride.

The TL was 1.1 sec slower, quite a bit on a 60sec lap. But it was faster than the G37S and 335i that were also tested - claimed to be due to it's AWD ability to get the power down early.
