I'm in the same boat Tortoise.
I always swear I'm not going to buy another Mazda. Then I always end up buying one as they:
A)Fit my 6'4" frame
B)Represent tremendous value
C)Are fun to drive

What Mazda. Years agi I dismissed a 6 wagon becuase of the lack of headroom (6'2")

Both my 6 wagon and 3 sedan have decent headroom. Neither has a sunroof. The seats also go far enough back..a problem with most makes for me. Nissan is another brand with great front legroom.

The 6 I tried had a sunroof. Didn't know the top model came without a sunroof (GT?), Ahh what could have been. . I ended up scratching it off the list. I had to pony up a lot more $$$ to get the V70R.

Tortoise, are you still shopping for a 6 wagon?  I'm looking at used Mazda 3's right now and I stumbled across this 6 wagon with a 5 speed at My Car in Richmond.  It's a silver '07 with 100,000km's for $9995.  I didn't look too closely at it, but from what I did see, it looked to be in good shape.

Thanks for the link.  We're looking for something with a little less kms.

Either way, we're currently ironing out the details of a deal.   I'll keep you posted.

After many phone call, much negotiating and several threats of walking I`m going to be picking it up on Monday.

Details and photos to follow.

Will end up with exactly what I was looking for.  Even if I didn't know it at the start of the process.

Just got back.

To Hammy's dismay we ended up with a Mazda5.  A 2008 GT in white with 54,000 km.  Think it's the sharpest colour for the 5.  These are the dealer's photos, I'll post in S&S when I find time along with some thoughts on the buying process and the car itself..

Nice, I think the 5s look great in white.  I've been trying to convince the wifey that this could/should be our next family hauler, but its tough getting her past the "minivan" stigma.

Congrats!

What's a Hammy?

A poster that doesn't like Mazda 5s.
