....sitting in traffic is a pleasure...this from a 66 year old lover of all things automotive and driving...

And from my all time favorite Sesame Street - One of these things is not like the other....

In the same spirit of balanced and fair reflections as the previous post I can report having found the ES 350 to be the ultimate driving machine, an engaging car masterfully tuned to involve the driver in what consistently turns out to be a civilized and yet raw driving experience.   :)

LOL!  :rofl2:

I agree with others that the pearl white is really nice.  In fact, I'd say that paint is one of those areas where Lexus separates itself visibly from Toyota - the paints seem to be of very high quality to my less than expert eyes.  I don't really notice the same difference between, say a G37 and a Maxima.  But the paint on an ES350 looks like a real step up from that on a Camry.

I think you all must be smoking something funny. There's not a vehicle on this planet that's equipped well enough to make me feel good while sitting in a traffic jam. It's one of the most ridiculous discussions I've ever seen on this form, and that's saying something. A sad commentary on our society.......really.

I agree, well said.

Actually in all my years of commuting the guy in the expensive car is often the least courteous on the road, I drive a *********** so I'm cutting in....back of the line a$$hole.

Have you considered the possibility that you just have a jealousy beneath the surface of the rich people in their fancy wheels and hate them secretly? :)

Its ok, I hate rich people too. ;D But I see idiots driving every kind of car. Its the guys in real rust buckets that you have to be afraid of...they don't have much to lose.
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel.

Not a jealous bone in me, but I tolerate bull$hit on the road very poorly.  Yes an a$$hole could be driving any POS but for some reason I always find the ones in those expensive wheels crass like that, like we owe them or something.  You have to admit a lot of them are like that.

Now if I wanted a car like that I could get one today, and no not a lease.  I'm 52 and financially very stable, but it's not a priority in life.  I am not a pretentious person so don't get that idea. ;)

I have a best friend 100 times richer than me, he drives a Windstar, now we gotta do something about that ::)

That's pretty impressive. Looks like the ES350 is a very safe bet and excellent at what it is (luxury cruiser) without pretending to be what it's not (M5).

7.6l / 100 km is remarkable...and provides a good response to the attempt earlier in this thread to convince us that luxury and economy are mutually exclusive.

I was able to replicate the exact (actually a touch better) mileage in a roadtrip in my Lexus IS350.

This is truly a great V6....

What part is that?

Fuel economy is hardly an important factor to the buyer of a $45,000 luxo-boat.
Since October 2015 the Junior PM has been in office.  Record mega-Billion deficits as he p*sses away our future.  An economy gutted. Stinky POTHEADS rejoice. We are going down the drain.

Coming back from Eugene Oregon last spring the traffic was heavy so I was forced to stay at the speed limit. My TL posted 7.2 L / 100km on that leg.

Oldsguy, although fuel costs are not a big factor for my household budget, I like to drive an efficient car. It is important to me in fact.
I'd never join a group that would have me as a member.
