I guess pricing wise it's the same as a loaded Passat CC 2.0T with Tech and R-Line packages, but $3,000 more than a TSX V6 with its more sedate appearance. At the same price with AWD it would have been a solid value, but luxury brand competitors with AWD at a comparable price point muddy things.

Bingo.

is that a requirement of PURCHASE........ ??? :-\.....

I don't remember when I saw this latest Regal on the road last. Saw a few when they first came out but am really really NOT seeing them in Ottawa at all. Seen a couple of LaCross'es but no Regals. Saw 2 Focus Titanium's and 2 new Civic's on my commute this morning. No Regals

The upcoming Caddy ATS, OTOH, looks VERY interesting.

The problem is they are only selling very few of them, top level trim, imported from Germany.

Once the factory in Oshawa builds them and the base model is on sale they will explode.

Okay, so CDN$42,345 to start, before you add nav, sunroof, premium paint or the 20" wheels.  That's a giant step removed from the US price of $35,310 reported at the beginning of this thread.

The first impression reviews I have read so far would suggest that Buick has - finally - delivered a real-deal sports sedan with a Regal badge.

Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

It's interesting pricing.  Priced right against competition like the TSX V6 as the article states.  But this is for enthusiasts.

So I am an enthusiast....I have $45 000 in pocket and I want a performance car and I am only interested in one from GM.  Why would I choose this over the low torque 270HP 6-speed RWD CTS?  For another $3000 I could even get the 304HP 3.6L 6-speed RWD model.  Don't like RWD or manual, the automatic AWD CTS still fits this price range

Good point.  And as I expected all along, the pricing also brings the G37x into play.  Sure, you have to give up some toys to get a price match - but you get 30 more ponies and AWD with the G - two things you can't add to the Regal no matter how many boxes you tick.

It arguably has the V6 TSX beat, but as you say, the TSX isn't the only other alternative.

I don't know why, just when it comes to Canada, they decide to price gouge just because someone else is. It (their ego) has always backfired on them and why wouldn't this be any different. There will be thousands on the hood in future. On the other hand, maybe they don't want to sell many here due to production or other logistic reasons.

$ 35,310- US is $ 34, 547- Cdn. today

They price gouge because the can.

Sales of this car will be small in canda regardless of its 35 K or 42 K.

Maybe they sell 2 or 3 more GS's at 35 K but that small increase in volume doesn't make up for the decresed revenue per car. With lower volume cars like this or VW R32/35 or whatever..cars that they sell only low volumes they are always going to do this and nothing is ever going to change it.

G37 AWD Auto 43450
G37 RWD SPORT with 6speed manual 46540

An extra 50 HP and not worry about routing it through the front wheels. That's tough competion. I'm not sure why TSX V6 is the competion because its AUTO only.

An A4 Quattro with a 6 speed starts at 39 K.Its down on HP but 0-60 numbers appear to be close becuase of weight and the AWD traction.

Sounds like Buick may finally have gotten the Real right with the GS..they just got it right one price class too high. Once we see 4 K plush cash on the hood it starts to become a viable alternative.

The same absurd pricing is going on with the Regal Turbo. A bit over $31K in the US and try to find one here for less than $35K - you cannot.
Since October 2015 the Junior PM has been in office.  Record mega-Billion deficits as he p*sses away our future.  An economy gutted. Stinky POTHEADS rejoice. We are going down the drain.
