May 2011 MotorTrendy states that Scion had the Cayman as it's handling benchmark...which would be sweet indeed.

Nice marketing hype from a "marketing brand".

The article points to the fact that the boxer motor is key to achieving the handling target.  Producer Manager Toshio Masuda stated - "There is no other (production) engine that sits so low in the body.  Maybe the engine position is similar to Ferrari."

and maybe it's not.  Is it or isn't it?  More marketing BS.

Another neat detail...that low engine means the drive shaft won't be slanted as much as most other rear drive cars.

The pistons will be lower, but the crank output shaft won't be any lower than say a Miata/Z/Bimmer, etc.

Cars often set benchmarks - Boss 302 benchmark was the M3 , in track testing the new 302 beat the m3 .
It's not marketing hype, its what the car has been engineered to equal or beat .
Veloster used the Scirrocco as its benchmark .
(Mazda needs no benchmarks lol , just kidding) .
The toysub has all the right ingredients to make one great chocolate cake !
Cayman - sounds like a great benchmark to me .

Hey!  It looks like the RX8...now it sounds like a stock 8 on start-up!

Ah, that exhaust note is nothing the aftermarket can't fix.

Turbo Bob
Lol . I've rarely buttoned up the top 3 buttons when I wear a shirt unless I have to -- ha,ha, got that right on !  Read somewhere years ago, people who do are ashamed of their bodies ) . I have a beard and much more hair on my head, much taller too , cracked me up , if I gain weight it never goes to the sides - but great pic . Thanks for the laugh .
I can't remember the last time I've used the word "starlet" or "rumble" - strange thing to say .
