I did 1300 miles in 22 hours to Winnipeg, and then I did the same on the way back.

never again!

I haven't done that yet.

I did do 2214KM in 2009 over 4 days in the RX-8 which included a 1012KM day done in 14 hours. Toronto-connecticut-Manhattan(Bullrun)-Ocena City,MD-Toronto  :fall:  There were zero breakdowns and only 1 quart of oil.

Last year it was 5102KM over 7 days in the WRX for the Route 66 Rally.  Toronto-Chicago-Rolla-Tulsa-Amarillo-Kansas City-Chicago-Toronto

That was a great video - the guy does a pretty decent job as a presenter.   My favourite line was "If you're used to GT3 levels of braking.... " Sigh, I'd love to be used to GT3 levels of braking.

My personal best road trip was from Vancouver to Boston (via I-90) over 4 days.  The last day was Chicago to Boston.  This was in a regular cab Mazda pickup with no cruise control... You couldn't even recline the seats if you wanted a nap.
Only the slow and dim know where they're going in life, and seldom is it worth the trip. - Tom Robbins.

Mike, Mike Mike....you better have photos to prove the lack of oil consumption, as the voracious usage of oil is a strongly held belief around here.  Well...at least by those that haven't owned RX-8s.   ;)

LOL, people on the rally laughed when they saw the 4 bottles Castrol GTX in my trunk on day one.  The jokes about 'What are you going to use the other 3 days of the rally' were flying around.  By the end though I still had 3 bottles left.  It was hot as hell too that weekend.

This video is from the event and well worth the 1 minute view.  Check the cab (yes a real cab in New York).  My buddy just recently sold his 71 Trans Am in the video...a sad day for us all.

In 79' solo, 36 hrs from Mtl to Winnipeg, in old Ford Torino, going over 55mph brought on a nasty shake from the front end, hence the long travel time, oh, and a 2 hr wait in Wawa for the gas station to open up.

Early 90's in winter, solo, from Florida to TO 2400km in 26 hrs, Pontiac 6000 4cyl, parents car, they bought another one in Florida to return later in spring. Only problem I had was, windshield washer fluid was summer grade (did not know), by the time I got to the Buffalo area, salty windows were nasty, tried to use wipers, pulling over revealed completely frozen reservoir, d'uh.
