v-max coptor from my brother.   ;D :rofl2:

http://www.ehirobo.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=6974

it's so much fun.   kinda spins on its own though, so it's hard to control.

i think it's powered by capacitor on the helicopter charged by USB.  lasts about 4-5 minutes of full flight.
i'm sure it's modifiable.  i'm gonna start by removing the canopy and stabilizer to make it lighter for longer flight time.  :)

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

I'm not familiar with that model specifically, but check for a trim knob somewhere on the remote control. You should be able to dial it in so that the helicopter will hover without spinning.

Also check the instructions to see if they advise you to alter the curve on one of the rotors to prevent the copter from spinning. I have a similar helicopter and it does have a trim adjustment on the transmitter...but the instructions also suggest gently bending one of the rotors to adjust the blade curvature. I like to physically adjust the blade and just use the trim on the transmitter for fine tuning.

These RC copter are engineering marvels. Not that long ago, the idea of an electric RC helicopter flying with an onboard battery would have been deemed almost impossible. But these lithium batteries are incredible.

Unfortunately, in my case, I actually  got too good at flying the darn thing and I soon bored myself. I was quickly able to learn to fly around my small living room for 15 minutes at a time without hitting anything. After it became so easy, the challenge was gone and I just couldn't be bothered to fly it on a regular basis anymore. I'll still check my skills every few months, though.

My son got the Air Hog version that can shoot missiles for Xmas.  I think bad mistake.  He flew it into the back of my head and tangled up my hair with the rotor.  :(

A kid was playing with something like that here in Vietnam yesterday, it would lift off the ground pretty good and then go spinning off into the crowd.

Ms B's song for today.

She was poor but she was honest,
Though she came from 'umble stock,
And her honest heart was beating
Underneath her tattered frock.

It's the same the whole world over,
It's the poor what gets the blame,
It's the rich what gets the pleasure,
Isn't it a blooming shame?

Your Grace.  I am flattered that you honour me with words and song.  Now, what's this about my bloomers?  Oh, and Sir LasPalmas:  you are hereby sentenced to be drawn to the Tower of London, where you shall be hung until half dead, at which point you will be removed from the noose and eviscerated, then quartered, by the power of His Majesty, the King of Canon -- unless you take the Oath of No Nikon.

(I've been watching The Tudors all week.)   ;D

Las, nice marble pestle & mortar.  I have a similar marble one, works great.    With Nikon, you can borrow Bob's collection of nice expensive lenses.  ;D

Those little helicopters are fun to chase the pets around.

Hmm.  Back in the 35mm days, my family was all Olympus (allowed us to share lenses):  OM1, OM1n, OM2, OM2s, I think there were7 or 8 bodies in all, lenses ranging from 600 to 14mm...

But now, in the digital age, I have a Nikon, and my wife has a Canon...does that portend marital strife?  Have we grown to be...incompatible?
