Came across the post on Wheels.ca about most stolen cars in Ontario. heres the list:

So what do you think guys? Are those on the list most popular cars or the easiest to steel?

Can't believe some 10 year old Civic and the RSX is still on the list. That car is no big deal IMO (guess it appeals to ricers wanting parts).

The SUV's I can understand as they would likely be used in some third world country.

These cars also likely don't have a good imobilizer and are easy to steal...

LOL, this is now the third different list I have heard today.  I heard one on the radio that had the 2002 GMC Envoy in 4th and MSN has this list online:

It looks to me like there might be a list of the most stolen by number.  The other list looks like perhaps most likely to be stolen based on how many of those vehicles there are on the roads in Ontario and how many got stolen.

It just about desirability, it's about ease of theft.  Civics are everywhere and easy to steal...

Well, the ricers want the Civics and Acura, and the urban gangstas want the Escalades.

I suspect the Range Rover thefts were probably insurance scams arranged by frustrated owners. Hell, half of them probably won't run on any given day...

Bang on. The engine in this car is coveted because it will bolt into pretty much any 1990 - 2000 Civic/CRX without much hassle. Same with the Integra.

Need not to worry.  2001 and later Civics have a chip in the key.  That's why they're not on the list.  It at least helps keep the rookies away.

That's correct my 02 Civic has an immobilizer.  Then again who wants to steal a Civic that doesn't have double-wishbone front suspension?
