I note that in the latest issue of the Lemon-Aid Book by Phil Edmonston, he has down rated Volvo due to the China connection, he says that Ford neglected them and sold Volvo for 30 cents on the dollar to new owners from China who are not used to dealing with North American markets, he suggests not to buy any Volvo product until we see where the Company is heading!

WTF?  ???

what's that got to do with China?    Ford sold jaguar and land rover to india and they seem to be doing ok.    and fyi, everything is made in china anyway.

Is the 250HP S60 T5 coming in AWD?

2012 Volvo S60 T5 FWD sport sedan goes on sale in North America - January 2011.

Being a past owner of two S60's MY2002, MY2004 I say the return of Peter Horbury and his style direction cannot
come soon enough to rid Volvo of this current style direction they are on at the moment.
The dash in the new S60 IMO is awful chunky/blocky blah

That said the rear end of the new V60 looks real good without the silly SUV-like aluminum skid plate,
 but shame about its face.

The only Volvo I don't mind with the new long nose face is the C30.

I think the new face is dictated by safety concerns over styling concerns (in this case, pedestrian safety).  I suspect the new Volvos have some of the best pedestrian protection on the market, based upon looking at them.  Sexy it's not, but putting safety concerns over gorgeous aesthetics is as traditionally Volvo as anything.  So I forgive them for the new face.

It's modded by Heico. I'm guessing the quad pipes are their work, also it looks to be lowered, and the rims are aftermarket. ;D

Riiight...haha.  Sorry, noticed the logo after I posted.  And the rims were obviously aftermarket.

So this is sort of a replacement to the V70 yes??

The old V50 was based on the S40 as I recall?

Yeah.

I'm not sure what Volvo's plans are. I read somewhere they will be dropping the S40. Maybe in this case the V60 is meant to replace both the V50 and V70. ???

I don't care what they do as long as that quad-pipe V60 comes to Canada.

(And I'll still drool over that car even if Julian Assange is a rapist :P)

Phil has his opinions, but no reliable data to back them up. Volvo's quality and reliability improved quite a bit after Ford's takeover according to Consumer Reports and JD Powers. At least they bother to collect data on these things. The current S60 has better reliability scores than the BMW 3 series and Mercedes C-class, thought it lags most of the Asian cars in its class.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.
