Foxy shots.  :) Did he find what he was looking for? Even though winter doesn't officially start for another couple of weeks, here's a few 'winter' shots of my own.
I took this one in my front yard after our first overnight snowfall.

This one's a 300mm telephoto shot of the SilverStar foothills I took from my living room window a few days ago.

He did, actually. I witnessed him eating a mouse (or something like that). *Crunch, crunch, gulp. It didn't take very long as he swallowed the whole thing in one piece.

That's the view from your living room?!

Well, yes and no...  :'(
This is the REAL 'view' from my living room window. It's amazing what a long zoom lens can do. If you strain your eyes you can just make out the top of the hill I showed in the first pic at about center-left in this one. The first one was taken at full 300mm zoom, the second at about 35mm.

^^  I love the contrast between the white snow and that gorgeous blue sky in the first picture. Beautiful.

Just a couple of shots I took outside this morning. It's really warmed up in the last couple of days with a high of +8C expected today.

What kind of macro photography are you interested in?   I don't think $200 will get you a new macro lens.  Maybe used if you look hard enough.  To do macro work on a budget, you could try some extension tubes to allow you to focus closer with your current set of lenses or a close up lens to attach to your lens.   If you have two lens, you can try a reversing ring.   What lens do you currently have for your Canon XSi?

That's what I was thinking. I'm not a Canon guy so I'm not sufficiently informed to offer specific lens advice...but I think it's safe to say you aren't likely to get a decent macro lens for $200.00. If I had to do macro on the cheap, I'd lean towards extension tubes or a reversing ring (I'm not a fan of the add-on close up lenses).

Agreed as well.  You'd be lucky to find one even used for $200.
I bought a macro lens this summer for around $550.  There aren't all that many around, and the one I bought was one of the cheapest.

Beautiful shot, HeliDriver. No wonder cellphone cameras are projected to kill the lower end compact camera market.

I have a Canon XS and have both the kit lens and the 50mm f/1.8.  Absolutely love it, but I wouldn't call it a macro lens at all.

Here's a slightly abstract Christmas photo.

My cat has been knocking the decorations off the Christmas tree. Sometimes, I can't find the hangers to reattach them to the tree so I've been dropping them into a glass dish. I grabbed this shot. It's available light at ISO6400 with a good dollop of noise reduction. I like the look:
