And GQ's Car of the Year is...
« on: November 20, 2010, 12:36:34 pm »
...the Fiat 500!

I've got no idea why GQ looks one model year further ahead than most COTY awards, but that is what it is.  I thought it was an interesting and good pick, though.  They cite the return of Italian style at sub-six-figures (not to mention sub-$20k), combined with remarkable fuel economy and an engaging driving experience.

I think Fiat-Chrysler is going to be very, very happy with how the Cinquecento works out for them.  I have this feeling it's going to be a huge hit in North America.

LOL.

GQ's actually got pretty good taste in cars, though car reviews are not a major part of what they do.  COTY last year was the MkVI GTI, if I recall correctly.

Usher, Justin Timberlake, and Ne-Yo would all like to have a word with you.  Do you want to do a teleconference, or talk with each in turn?

The Yanks are worse than the down-easters.  So... no.  Take a message.  That is all.    ;D

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

I think this car will be a hit with the 'hipsters'.  The Mini is going to feel the biggest impact of this cars success.

It's priced considerably lower than the Mini, with the top 500 priced about the same as the base Mini.
