Unless it was in Europe  ;D

And then only as an option.   The Accord in Eu  = TSX here is not sold as a screaming M3 equivalent.

Did they really put that S2000 engine in the Accord in europe? Wow! I soooo would've bought that Accord!  ;D

(Then again, I probably would've found it to be too small as the TSX is on the smaller side for my taste...)

I don't think it was put in the eu accord but if it was it would have been only as an option is what I meant to say.

It wasn't the exact same motor, but pretty damn close.  The K20 in the Accord Euro Type R 'only' made 220HP

The Honda Accord Type-R (ATR) was produced from 1998-2003 using the CH1 Accord chassis and sold in UK/EU markets, the JDM Accord Euro-R uses the CL1 chassis. Using a naturally aspirated 2.2 litre 4-cylinder DOHC H22A VTEC motor which produces 220 bhp (220ps)and the EDM was (212ps) @ 7,200 rpm and 164 lb·ft (222 N·m) @ 6,700 rpm. The Accord Type-R includes a stiffer suspension, limited-slip-differential, twin-piston brakes, dual exhaust system, Recaro seats and a leather trimmed Momo steering wheel.

Its successor is the CL7 Accord Euro-R produced 2004-2007 built in Sayama, Japan for the JDM market, it came with a K20AI-VTEC motor {Displacement: 1998 cc, Compression: 11.5:1, Power: 220 bhp (220 PS,162 kW) @ 8000 rpm, Torque: 152 ft·lbf (206 N•m) @ 7000 rpm and a Redline of 8800 rpm} same as the 02-06 Integra Type R. Of course it has the standard Type R modifications – including Recaro seats, a limited-slip-differential and independent double-wishbone suspension.

As tpl said, this is what the TSX is.

Nice :) it's like a TSX made to be like a civic Si... did they make the exhaust specially for the sound like they did in the si?

Considering the average Accord driver, can you blame them?  :-\

I don't know, maybe in Europe all the Accord drivers are cool but here the Accord seems to attract the worst of the worst drivers (along with the Camry, Corolla and Civic).

Maybe but if Topgear's to be believe in the UK they think Hondas are retirement vehicles.

Maybe but if Topgear's to be believe in the UK they think Hondas are retirement vehicles.

Apart from the Type-R's they pretty much are...  Their reputation has improved a lot over the last few years though, we had a UK Accord and I loved it.


Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...
