Ultimate Factories on National Geographic
« on: October 03, 2010, 03:23:53 am »
Anybody watch this on Nat Geo?  Pretty damn sweet.  Follows a complete build and factory technology of some cool cars.  So far they have:

Camaro SS
C6 Z06
BMW Z4
Porsche 911
Ferrari
Audi R8
Lambo Murcielago

They also had firetrucks, Caterpillar and John Deere to name a few.  But the car ones are great!!

Anyone one else catch these?
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Great show!  I've seen the Ferrari and Lambo episodes and it was amazing. Didn't notice any of the other ones so I will have to start looking for them again. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, I saw the BMW Z4 production. It was amazing, I thought. Didn't know they went to such great lengths to personalize these cars for customers. I would like to see the rest of the shows. I believe I saw production of Peterbilt highway tractors, too! It was very interesting, also

I've only see the Ferrari one so far.  A great watch!

Aaaaahhhh!!!  My eyes...it was too late to shield them from the antique Z06 chassis set-up!!!!

Those shows look cool...but I'd have to turn off Johnny Test for 10 minutes to watch them...that ain't happen' any time soon.

They still use balsa wood on the C6 like they did on the C5?

Yep, he was the first employee to lose his position to a robot 20 year ago. He is a 25 year man and now works in QA/QC. Despite what people like hcrv say Ford is working hard to make quality products.

Downloaded and watched the R8 one this afternoon. Pretty neat to watch. Some of the information seemed a bit questionable (mostly with respect to the car's performance), but still really interesting to see.

I'm looking forward to the Porsche one later this month!

I've watched the Ferrari one and the Lambo one. The Ferrari factory is very high tech. The Lambo one, not so much.
Enjoying the Alberta advantage

I know the feeling all too well TopGun!!!.  Gotta love a pvr.  Record it anytime and save it for when the little ones are in bed.

There was a Harley Davidson episode that was interesting as well.  Loved the Porsche episode.  That would be a fantastic factory to visit.  I love how where the assembly line goes over the road, it's glass.  Anybody driving under it can look up and see the assembly line with bare 911 bodies passing overhead.  Very cool!

Haven't see the R8 episode, I'll have to keep an eye out for it...
