Your best "possible" car
« on: September 29, 2010, 10:55:51 pm »
If you were to take a current "normal" car (possibly even your own) and spec'd it with any available engine/transmission etc from the entire range, what would you want to build?

For example, I'd love my car (GC) with all the bits from the Track model (brembo's etc) plus the new 5.0L Tau V8! 430 bhp & 376lb-ft, yeah baby!  That would be amazing, and I hope what they bring out in 2012. (not that I would be in a position to buy one)

 :)

Choosing a car based on reliability is like choosing a wife based solely because she is punctual. There is more to it than that...

Well, this should be "possible":

3rd gen. Camaro (what did you expect  ;D ). I'd replace everything possible with fiberglass and aluminum on it while keeping the looks genuine and then give it to ppl like AC Propulsion to give it 200 mile range and 4 sec 0-60. No smoke, just torque. I would never get bored  :skid:

1990 Taurus body on a 2010 BMW M5 chassis. :rofl2:

I want...

1. An ultra efficient diesel Subaru Forester.  I want my AWD, gear carrying CUV and I want Corolla (or better) fuel economy.

2. A 1970-1/2 Z28 RS Camaro body with the new ZR-1 driveline, killer suspension, and a modern interior (no, not the "modern" Camaro interior)

3. An original 427 inch Cobra, with , um, well, hell that car is perfect!!!

Why does the HKS Silver BOV have to be Silver? Why not the flat black industrial look? :)

Minimal:   A 2010 GTI with the Audi TTS 265 bhp 2.0 engine and the DSG version that goes with it.
Slightly less minimal: Add the TTS's  Quattro drive-train still inside the GTI dimensions.

In either case remove some illogicalities from the DSG software and other electronics in the car.

While we are at it:
Replace the FIT engine with a 2.0 VTEC Honda SI unit with a six speed manual.  Add a body kit to give some space for... new suspension and wheels all around to get the handling up to the 200 bhp level the new engine will do.   Keep the magic seats and stuff inside.
The most radical revolutionary will become a conservative the day after the revolution.

My own car?  Maybe a 3-rotor engine.

I'd imagine that G37S M6 with AWD and a supercharger ala IPL might be an interesting combo. ;D
