Wife's Company Car - What to Choose?
« on: September 29, 2010, 03:20:08 pm »
So my wife has been given her options for a new company car, and they are as follows:
Nissan Altima 2.5S
Ford Fusion FWD SE
Chevy Cruze LT Turbo
Dodge Journey FWD SE Plus
Nissan Rogue FWD S
Jeep Patriot FWD North Edition
Ford Escape FWD XLT

Each of them are 2011 models and the company will spring for snow tires.

My two favourites would be the Rogue and Escape.  So, which way would you go?

Not really a fan of the Escape.  Too  truckish and the interior is meh.   Also, is that the 4 cyl. Escape?  If so, avoid.  It's underpowered and noisy.

Altima or Fusion for me.

If she wants a sedan, the Fusion would be my choice,

If a crossover, the Rogue or the Escape. Do NOT do the Journey nor the Patriot.

I would go each dealership and try each car
Then get the one she likes the best

I like the size of the Dodge Journey but it is a Dodge

Can she get a hybrid in anyones that offered?

why not go for one of the cars since you have an SUV already? The Turbo Cruze might be fun  :)

I would rank first to last:
Nissan Altima 2.5S
Ford Fusion FWD SE
Ford Escape FWD XLT
Chevy Cruze LT Turbo (ranked 4th because it's a smaller vehicle, which may or may not be a plus to you)
Dodge Journey FWD SE Plus (would rank higher if not for the mess of a dash)
Nissan Rogue FWD S (S is very basic, and I don't find the vehicle that roomy)
Jeep Patriot FWD North Edition

They really are.  A co-worker has one and I've been impressed every time I ride in it.  He says he can easily get over 700 km on the highway.

+3 on the Altima, it's a great hyw car, great range and the CVT is liveable as well.
Fusion I've never tried. Could be OK from what I read/hear.
If she wants to be up high then the Escape but as someone prevsiously mentioned, if it's the 4cyl then forget it.
The rest...mehhh

Fusion or Altima. I don't know enough about the Cruze, but I would take a good look at one, too.

I would ask for a car allowance and buy something I wanted...which would not be one of those.

My thoughts exactly.

Ditto. Fusion would be my first choice, Altima 2nd. I don't know much about the Cruze Turbo, might be worth a look. But the rest, meh.

He says he can easily get over 700 km on the highway.
With a 76L tank I would hope so.
