On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Wokeism is nothing more than the recognition and opposition of bigotry in all its forms.  Bigots are predictably triggered.

Agreed, but wouldn't the steering wheel assembly be the same as the existing Cruze that's been around since 2008?  Not bashing, but seriously asking.  Did North America get a different assembly?

I personally think that the design is sound and/or fine and that it is human error somewhere along the assembly line.  Just my guess.

That's a fair point.

Well this is interesting... in the US the Cruze knocked the Camry out of best selling car.

http://www.autoblog.com/2011/07/05/cruze-knocks-camry-out-of-best-selling-car-spot-for-june/

I think the prediction that the Cruze was just big enough to entice some of the mid-size crowd while being priced at just the right level to bring in some of the budget car crowd was a winning combination. No doubt the Camry has been in some way affected by the tsunami and earthquake in Japan and granted it is at the end of the model... But I think that is missing the bigger picture. A "small car" is a top seller in the US.

Does anyone on the forums actually own one? I'd be curious to know what living with one is like. Much better stories than the one day review :)

This isn't a first year model car. It's been out for at least 3 years. I had a thread going about this a while ago which you commented on and said it wasn't a first year car LOL.

LOL. Well it's an old design it been around for 3 years and soon to be updated. You'd think they would have iron out some of the bugs.

They've certainly had ample time to sort this stuff out.  This isn't a first year production vehicle.

And no - they would never be subject to the kind of witch-hunt that Toyota was put through.  It would be a conflict of interest.

Re: 2011 Chevrolet Cruze: Now Coming in Diesel?
« Reply #319 on: July 12, 2011, 05:31:14 am »
Well... make sure you're seated. Apparently the diesel is being confirmed to make a showing in North America. So... maybe the hatchback will make a showing in Canada too. They can justify the Orlando here and not the US so maybe this one too. I think it is a bit weird... there is a gap left by the Pontiac Vibe that I thought they would want to fill with the Cruze hatch. But no..

I've read so many different accounts of the diesel coming / not coming / may be coming / probably coming that I will believe it when it's actually here and not befofre.  Not that I particualry care - diesel's don't really interest me.

Jaeger
They don't interest me but ... I had thought that the diesel was about as confirmed as these sort of things get. We can all believe it when we see it in the dealerships I guess :)

I don't pretend to have the very latest, but this was from Feb 22nd:

Jaeger

Looks like it might actually happen
