A pair of Carrera (bought in 1988, same year I had an E30 318i), still have it, the sunglasses. A pair of Ray Ban, gift from my brother, with light-changing lenses, not the greatest for driving. Bought 2 pairs of Serengeti's, from Costco, use them the most.

I usually change sunglasses from 2 hours of usage, hurts the ears and nose a bit. I don't need glasses yet, do have a prescription pair for night driving.

Well if it is just sunglasses then you can live with the heavier lenses no?

I wish mine weren't 1/2" thick haha

Aren't you a good candidate for laser eye surgery, then?

Quite the opposite, it would make things worse.  I'm far sighted.

I believe they can correct that now
Laser eye surgery was one of the best things I did , just need off the rack reading glasses now

They can but not in my case, I asked Doctor said no way.

Lucky for me unlike 90% of the population I can see just fine without my glasses, just don't ask me to read anything.  Like most people say when they wake up they can't see the alarm clock or whatever.  I can function completely sans glasses, it's just for reading.

I thought the laser worked best for myopia where the centre of the cornea is burnt off.  I don't see how you get the reshape for hyperopia as you need more corneal thickness in the centre no?   I guess you could have what would essentially be a cataract operation with a new plastic lens inserted.

Anyway for extreme myopes like me the process would leave the centre of the cornea too thin.

A pair of Ray-Ban 4057 polarized. They're excellent.

Matrix "Agent Smith" Sunglasses (1st film design).  I like them because they prevent any sunlight from peeking around the edges of the frame, something that my regular sunglasses do.

Serengeti Corsas. Polarized drivers.
Costco had them cheeeap . I guess they are being phased out. I couldn't pass them up  at $130.

I noticed Snowy has Vaurnets. Hard to find. I also picked up some Vaurnets at Costco. Not polarized but their skilynx lenses are great in the snow/water. Reasonable too at $120.

I gave up on plastic lenses, too prone to scratching and can't stand the optical distortion.

Had to read this thread to see just how many people do wear sun glasses to drive. Just because I don't. The darkening makes me feel a little too removed from things when I wear my anima glasses
Perhaps I should just persist with it

I wear discontinued Oxydo Safilo ultralight polarized wrap arounds.    the lenz(if you could call it that) is a flexible thin plastic that has NO distortion.  light blue tinted so it doesn't interfere with actually seeing things from dark inside of the car.

I never really knew what kind of a difference the polarization made until i tried the oxydo, since it is very lightly tinted, you can actually see the light polarization change as you turn your head..  pretty cool.

I find that my ray-ban or oakleys are a little too dark for driving.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

True story, I am -3.75 and I can't even read the speedometer without my contacts.

I've been wearing Stihl 'safety' glasses.   They look more or less like regular wrap style sunglasses and are rated as safety eyewear so good to know when using them with tools, mowing the lawn, etc.

They're pretty sturdy and seem to have good polarization since they're made for workmen.

Cheap too at $20 - $40...
