Never heard of the Obese gene?

"However, they point out that it is unlikely to be the cause of the global obesity epidemic."

No, that would be caused by behaviour.

But the gene does exist. At it does effect people.

Just like being a fall down drunk is a "disease".  Having an excuse such as a "gene" allows people to say "It's not my fault I eat 20,000 calroies a day and I have no self control".

and it still peaks at a relatively high 4,000 rpm."

Well if the reviewer thinks 4000 rpm sucks, then what did he say about 4900?

He said it was "fine", right, until you pack in 4 adults?

In fact, the reviewer said the "lack of torque off idle" comment without even saying anything about having 4 adults in the rav4 2.5 - what exactly does that say?

Supply the RAV link and I'll give it a read.  :)

This is the Montanna crowd buying these Equinoxes.  Buyers are gonna load these vehicles and they are gonna put hitches on them for utility trailers.

Really, you sound like am exremely jealous Toyodaphile. On looks alone the cheapness of the Rav shines through. But maybe that's your cup of tea.
