Not that Hyundai has not made some cool commercials. Always liked this one.

Let's see, Greg hates it, TG hates it, Erik hates it, and I'm guessing diceman probably hates it too. How shocking.

Preference for a "winding road by the ocean" commercial?  Seriously?  I can't think of a more lame and hackneyed advertising exercise than that tired old schtick.  Hats of for some innovation, here.

That's pretty frikken' cool!

Well I'm glad I read the part where it says the graphics highlight "New Thinking. New Possibilities." so at least I knew what they were at least trying to do.

I think it will be a completely ineffectual marketing piece - there is zero link of the benefit this offers to the product...and I'd extend that to their new slogan as well.  Who approves this stuff?

But that's MANY (most?) auto related commercials.  Nothing new here.

Agree with TG.

I'll take the typical "winding road by the ocean" car ads over this.

Was that an add for WWE summer Slam
I guess I am the wrong age for most adds now  ::)
Atlast in a  "winding road by the ocean" car ads  I know the add is about a car  ;D

.....

So everything has to be 1 or 0 I guess.  Maybe I'll call you Dub-ya...you're either with us or with the terrorists.

Erik posted some excellent ads - especially for the Genesis as it hits its sporting intentions perfectly while taking a shot at its target - the Mustang.

But that's MANY (most?) auto related commercials.  Nothing new here.

I'd adree rrocket...it doesn't make it right though.  Here's a great commercial that supported Audi's value proposition very well:

And this one from Porsche attempting to unify all of their offerings through a racing "bloodline".

So everything has to be 1 or 0 I guess.

Not everything.  But some outcomes are kinda predictable.

Wow, so much for so little. Think this is the best looking sedan in the subcompact class too.

Hyundai announces all-new 2012 Accent

May 17, 2011

Markham, Ontario – Hyundai has announced the all-new 2012 Accent, which offers more features and content than the 2011 model but at a lower starting price.

The 2012 Accent four-door sedan starts at $13,199, a reduction of $1,100 versus 2011, but with $1,500 in added standard equipment, the company said. The 2011 two-door hatchback has been replaced with a new four-door hatchback that starts at $13,599.

The Accent uses an all-aluminum 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, producing 138 horsepower and 123 lb-ft of torque, and rated at 4.8 L/100 km in highway driving. The new engine uses gasoline direct injection (GDI), a first for the subcompact category, and comes with a six-speed manual or available six-speed automatic transmission.

All Accent models include active front head restraints, four-wheel disc brakes, anti-lock brakes, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, six airbags, electronic stability control and traction control.

Best news of all to me, gone is the two door hatchback in favor of a four door hatchback! Pretty funny how a $13k Accent comes with disc brakes on all corners when the Jetta doesn't.

Direct injection, 6 speed transmission, disc brakes, six airbags, ebd/esc/tc, all of that for $13k? Everyone else in the segment has some 'splaining to do...

:iagree: A 4 door hatch is much more convenient.  All that for less money too.  That will be a lot of car of the money...WOW!

Something is not right...I mean for 13k how in the hell can they pack so much (useful) features and still make money?? You wouldn't even get a barebone stripped Yaris for that money.

It could be quick with a 6 speed manual and the light weight, but will it both handle and ride well. Possible 2nd car/winter beater. Looking forward to reading the reviews.

Wow, it sure looks good in blue , great side shot . it looks perfectly proportioned , the back wheel doesn't look small . With its light weight and its d.i. motor should be a great car .

What a fantastic car with brilliant packaging and pricing. Makes some competitors look silly by comparison.

Behind a Grand Caravan, one of the best values goin'. Will check them out as soon as they reach dealers.

Shouldn't "standard equipment" be included in base price. Strange way to word it. The 4-door hatchback as well as the sedan will have PDI and taxes applied to that base price?

I saw a very spiffy 4-door sedan in a parking lot today. Beautiful burgundy pearl.

Standard is included in the base price of $13,199, that's what it says, why would you think otherwise you don't add the $1500 "in added standard equipment" on top of that price, but it could work out to the same thing as PDI/Freight (n/a on their site yet as they haven't go their build feature set up) would have to be added as well as taxes and other fees depending on your province.  This applies on all vehicles sold in Canada.
