I barely got my Mustang to $40K, while the basically similarly equipped 135 was about $52K. Even without the difference in price, I would take the Mustang. Just couldn't stand looking at the homely 135i every day, regardless how well it drove. Now, the 335i is a different beast, and one I would be happy to have in my garage.

+10!
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

.....

Besides, many are comparing the '11 GT with another BMW...the M3.

Here's a question - There are a couple of 2010s around that are around $10,000 less than the '11.  Is the '11 a 30% better car than the '10?

As rrocket would likely suggest, I'd be tempted at taking the extra coin and putting it into some suspension work over time.  There are kits available straight from Ford...and lots elsewhere.

TG you should just get a Genesis Coupe, you know you want one. Hyundai make the best cars in the world you know.

You'd be silly to buy a 2010 stang with the engine in the new 11 it's so awesome!

I'd want one a lot more if everyone else didn't go ga-ga over them.  You're the only one that's actually bought one.

I had my eye on a 458 Italia...but Clarkson says you can't see the speedo and the satnav at the same time...so I'm out.

Hell yea!!  Save the $10K, put a Kenne Bell on (450+ RWHP) and some suspension mods and blow the 2011 GT into the weeds and put a serious hurt on the GT500.

No brainer for me. I have been in a couple of 2005s equipped with this blower, and it turns the car into a TQ monster.  And with only 9 psi, the stock tranny and clutch were still within spec.  Heck, running with a mere 6 psi would still net you more RWHP than a stock 2011 with the great TQ curve to boot.

To all those that said my $48k is out of wack.
I read the article again. $38,500 for base. add sunroof,Nav,brakes, limit'd slip, leather and distination charge adds up to $48,700. All of which is on the BMW except brakes but substitiue the Dinan upgrade. So again it's only $3000 more for the BMW. Or am I missing something ??.
And as for looks, to each thier own, but I'm not into the retro look, so again i'll take the BMW anyday. And yes I agree the 335i is better looking, but I prefer small cars and I like the look of the 135i. :)

You are missing something.  These can be had much cheaper.  Ford always has specials going on.  I just equipped one exactly as you stated and the price, including destination is $40,542. (Ford Employer Pricing sale +Delivery Allowance)

So we're talking $10K+ more for your BMW.

Thank you for that info rrocket !
Now it makes sense and understand the attraction to the Mustang considering "bang for the buck" !
