That video is utterly brilliant, and I am not even a fan of 911s. So, so so so so so so right...
Well newer cars are almost always better, but there is something special about cars of the past, be it an E-Type, a 1973 911 RS...you get the idea. I like that the older cars feel raw.
Great car, congratulations!
Awesome!! Fantastic car.
Awesome!!!
Thanks. Another dream come true, especially on my wallet. Priorities I guess.
Believe it or not, although I have a Porsche 993 and four BMW motorcycles, I did stop in at a GM dealer and had a look at a new Corvette. A great performer and the price was certainly right, but for me its the overall package and there were things in the newer 911 I liked better just sitting in it. And no, its not a status thing or I'd be cruising downtown instead of the empty back roads.
I don't get why people buy cars and simply don't drive them.
I heard from the dealer that the original owner has a slew of cars. The GTS is being replaced with a GT3 Touring.
I am up to 3082 kms so far. I wanted to get the 3000 km break-in miles behind me. I am sure Porsche is covering their butt and that is conservative. No harm done I am sure.
As for driving it, I will, just as I do my motorcycles. But I refer a sunny warm day and these are toys.
Amazing buy!! Please do keep us updated with the ownership experience. Congrats, and here's to logging more than 60km/year on the thing ![Tongue :P](https://www.autos.ca/forum/Smileys/CarTalk/tongue.gif)
Also, you may need to reconsider that username ![Wink ;)](https://www.autos.ca/forum/Smileys/CarTalk/wink.gif)
Ownership experience? Well I did my first oil and oil filter change prior to winter layaway. Christ, there is zero room to work. My 993 is a treat in comparison...I can actually see an engine in the 993.
I'll be loyal to my 993 as for the username.
When I went to one of the Porsche events at Indy, one guy proudly told me this is one of TWO times yearly he took his car out...
That is ultra rare. Quite a few have well over 100K, 200K (my friend's 993) and some have 500K kilometers on them.
When looking at eye candy, I head over to Trader and look at ultra low mileage Ferraris, or anything Italian.
