^Nice burry legs.  :D

Fattening up for the fall:

There is a big spider web on my front door.  Yesterday a wasp flew into it and before I could get my little camera, the spider has finished neatly packaging it for a tasty meal.  The wasp was fighting all the way.   It was an amazing life or death struggle.

P.S.  It is not officially fall until 9/21.  Can summer last a just little longer?  :)

Some from my weekend, ET's birthday.

The morning dew.

The trainset.

And my attempt at making a car cake.

It's a BMW.  :rofl2:

Pretty good attempt at a cake car.  BMW?  I don't think Sam, Murray, Jeff, and Anthony drive a BMW.

Happy birthday to Elliot.  :bday:

Something a bit different.

I just took these two pictures for an online model contest. These are reissues of the old Aurora plastic model kits from the 1960's. Revell just started selling them again and they are holding a contest that ends 15 September. I've entered a Wolfman and this Mummy.

Dexer, even though the contest is for the models and not the photography, how about lighting them more creatively, maybe from underneath with a green gel?  Keep them well lit so you can still see all the detail but make them more spooky looking?  Awesome detail on the eye BTW!

Few more from this weekend:

Wow, Rob... beautiful shots.  :bow2:   The cake, ummm... not so much.   :rofl2:

Hope to have more tomorrow.  I'm taking two moms and their seven year-old sons on a waterfall hike that I've done many times; to me, that means I'll be able to focus on the more interesting details of the day.

Thanks Brig, we went for a lunchtime picnic up to the covered bridge, couple of minutes from the house I turned back to get my camera, really glad I did as it's such a wonderful spot.

I have found that if you simply stand still in a familiar place, and if you're patient, there will always be something new and interesting to shoot, because you're not distracted by the big picture.

The covered bridge shot of Elliot is absolutely gorgeous, and (I suspect) a prime example of that.

Awesome collection of shots Dave.

Cheers Brig, best thing about that shot is that the wide angle and the circular polariser worked just perfectly, it's virtually straight from camera.  I love it whan a plan comes together!  ;D

Do you realize that in about 30 (updated as requested) years, we'll have millions of old ladies running around with tattoos?

Yeah, except if you're a Chipmunk. ;)

Nearby the lake in the village of Rosseau you can find Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary The sanctuary is run by a lady by the name of Audrey Tourney. Open Wednesdays and Sunday afternoons to the public, she has cared for animals in need and distress for decades now.
http://www.aspenvalleywildlifesanctuary.com/index.html

Also a good place to visit is the village itself.

Playing with the beta border tool on Photobucket:

Here's what $300 of OEM replacement parts look like.  My VW headlight and window switch died after a decade or so of use.    What's that old saying?   "You gotta pay to play with Euro..."
