Hvala vama! (Thank you!)
Sorry to be so late chiming in!
Currently I am not driving anything. The Aerio is in storage in Ottawa. My main forms of transport in Sarajevo are MAN/Kiepe Elektrik trolleybusses, MAN city busses, and Tatra/CKD streetcars. Add to that a rainbow of taxis, most commonly VW Golf II/III/IV/V/Bora/Vento/Jetta, Skoda Octavia, Seat Cordoba, Lancia Kappa... Although I have been tempted to buy a Yugo just to have a fun(ny) little beater. You can get recent ones (built in 2005) in pristine condition for about $2000.00. Everybody can fix them, and with the way they drive here, you don't care if it gets dinged...
Got B-day card and present from Mom and Dad through the diplomatic mailbag which arrived yesterday. The Embassy crew bought me a box of awesome Belgian chocolates, and as is the tradition here, I ordered in a cake to share with the office. As opposed to Canada, in this part of the world, it is the birthday boy/girl who buys the cake/drinks for all of his her friends...
At the end of July I will be leaving Sarajevo for a 3 year posting in Belgrade. The Balkan adventure continues.
