Great to see you again and you got an 'oh, wow' response from me on the move, and complete shock on the Yaris sale. Congrats on big things ahead - the drive, Forester (one of my favourites!), and house & land. I've also been contemplating moving to rural NS in the next couple of years - was looking around the area you bought specifically, so would really like to hear your impressions once there.

Incidentally, my counter-counteroffer was accepted, so once the house is inspected, the deal will be done. Small newish house, 4 acres, lots of water frontage - and cheap.

A couple years ago my parents bought some acreage just outside the city. It's a very nice way to live. And water front? Brilliant.

No, Daffi will be in her travel crate. She doesn't even know that it is possible to be in any part of a car other than the "hatch". Harnesses are a wonderful idea though IMO.

Sorta, kinda. Daffi and I leave Port early on the 21st so that we can meet with her son Charlie near Victoria for a couple of hours. We then take the ferry and spend the night with her family - Mom, Sis, & Grannie.

The real trek begins with the sun on the 22nd. We'll not be meeting Ovr50 or Trainman

, but rather pushing on to the BC border or even Calgary if my brain lasts that long. A brief stop in Winnipeg is scheduled on the 25th. We hope to arrive at Toronto on the 29th, and Ottawa on the 31st. Another brief stop in Montreal on the 1st if possible, then on to Charlottetown late on the 2nd or early on the 3rd. I have to be in Bridgewater, NS to sign papers on the 4th and I take possession of my new home on the 5th.

OK, that is THE PLAN. Reality, however, may very well have other things in mind for Daffi and me, and it is my experience that when reality and I come into conflict, I rarely come out on top.

Congrats on the big move Ross! Congrats on the new Subie as well! I am facing a smaller one myself this summer. The Embassy in Sarajevo is being closed this summer, and I am going next door to Serbia to work at the Embassy in Belgrade for 3 years.
