Now that's a better colour/angle.

The front and the interior look good, not sure about the design of the rear though, the wing looks a bit odd..?

Lincoln should be looking hard at that SHO powertrain for one of their vehicles if they're ever going to climb out of the black hole their in.

It's about time Ford had an answer for the 300C and the Impala SS. In terms of looks, the SHO already has them beat IMO.

I see. Is this the same engine then as the SHO and the price for this vehicle? Can't price it with this engine on the Lincoln website.

I think the new 300C looks pretty good, if it comes out in this form.

I certainly hope Mazda will have a Mazda6 variant with this powertrain (360 HP and AWD). This SHO does look nice but Ford needs to be careful with its pricing (in Canada anyway); this is still a Taurus after all.

Woo eee, fun times from a domestic.  Good on Ford, lets hope it does well:

"The new SHO boasts the highest level of tune so far announced for the Ecoboost V6 — 365 HP and 350 lb-ft of torque, going above and beyond the previously rated 355 HP in the 2010 Ford Flex and 2010 Lincoln MKS. The more important part of those power figures is where it comes in at, with peak torque starting from 1500 RPM and topping out at 3500 RPM. Shoot, that's almost in diesel territory. Ford isn't being bashful about this new SHO either, boldly claiming the Taurus SHO will outperform the BMW 550i while returning 25 MPG on the highway and coming in at a reasonable $37,995 price. Those are certainly fightin' words."

http://jalopnik.com/5147709/2010-ford-taurus-sho-the-sleeper-awakens

And look at that torque curve:

http://jalopnik.com/5151498/2010-ford-taurus-sho-live-and-with-a-ridiculous-torque-curve

Ok. So they've got a shopped torque curve and want to charge over 40k for a TAURUS ?  And thats when a 44k CAD buys you an 8cyl car of the year with more power and torque and likely better resale value. Step away from the bong, Ford.  ;D

The more I read about the new SHO the more I like. I think Ford is way ahead of the curve compared to GM and Chrysler in this mess.

The rwd Genesis is certainly a competitor, but the 4.6l V8 puts out 375hp on premium, 368hp regular. Torque numbers are 333ft-lbs. and 324ft-lbs with premium and regular. Peak torque is much higher in the rev range. The Taurus is getting 365hp and 350ft-lbs out of 3.5L V6, which isn't bad in a sporty sedan.

It'll be interesting to see the numbers on the SHO.

Good points!

This engine delivers V-8 levels of power – with an estimated 365 horsepower – without compromising its V-6 fuel economy… “ -  jalopnik.com

C’mon, turbocharger is a device to burn more fuel in a given displacement. A modest boost of 7psi would turn the 3500cc engine into 5250cc in effect. If you drive gingerly at 65mph on a flat highway with no boost you might be able to get 25mpg.  But as soon as you start driving aggressively to enjoy its thick torque, you will be able to see the fuel gage needle move.  Ask owners of 335i, CX-7, RDX and 2.0T if they are happy with the fuel consumption when driving spiritedly.  The energy does not come from nothing.  You have to burn more gas.

Course man.. but it's power when you want it and fuel economy when you don't. Sounds good to me!
