On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Baby VIBE!  No fan of the colour, though I've seen it in some of the diapers I've changed.   ;)

Here's to hoping there is a Chevy in 2010!

If the Spark came 'sparkless' as a diesel, could be great to trumpet that "GM trumps Ford and the Fiesta", if Ford ever brings the Fiesta over in diesel form.

It could be called the Chevy Glowplug!   :D

The Chevette years ago with a Diesel option for a year of so. The fuel milage was extremely good on it at the time as well. I would suspect they should be able to repeat this again with newer and even better designs now.  :)

Does it come with an glove box kimchi fridge?

Don't hold your breath on a diesel. Deawoo is not capable of making them.

I don't know if they make them, or source them from another manufacturer, but GM-DAT offers diesel versions of the Epica and Captiva in Europe.

They do. Deawoo was for many years simply an assembly company. It farmed out all design and engineering to foreign companies. The powertrains were imported and installed complete. The Kalos (aka Aveo) was their first clean slate design.

The previous Spark was based on the Matiz and the engine was a pre-Cambrian Suzuki design. The Matiz itself was a reworked Suzuki Alto mini car, called the Tico in Korea. Daewoo imported the whole factory from Japan.

Who is the builder of the current GM truck Deisel engines as they are foreign built and of very high quality as well. Its obvious someone built the older engines used in the smaller GM lineup back then which worked quite well actually.  :)

It is Isuzu. The engines are crated complete for installation in pick ups in North America. The new smaller 4.5 (I believe) is also made complete by Isuzu. GM used to have a major part of Isuzu but sold it last year for cash.

The 6.2 and 6.5 litre motors were a disaster, largely because GM could not teach its UAW Einsteins that a diesel motor needs very careful torquing at build, and must rest before re-torquing. The first was the workers' fault, the second GM's. Ford is having the exact same problem with the Powerstroke.

Not ALL of the Powerstrokes are bad though.  There's a couple of years where the engines were tough like anvils..though I for get what years...I'll have to check.

I do like the Allison tranny you can get in the GMs though...
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

They are in fact made by Aisin Seiki, which also supplies several other units to GM, their 6 speed car transmission. This unit is used in the new CTS and many other GM products.

The 6.2 and 6.5 litre motors were a disaster

While the 6.2 was not a "good" motor, the 6.5 was a complete POS.  What GM did was put a turbo on a stroked 6.2 without beefing up the crank which was a carry over from the 6.2. Hence crank failure was certain.
