There were two things I REALLY liked this article, the first being that it compared the Genesis to the car I'd be cross shopping it with (if I was shopping for a $30,000 sport coupe) - the BMW 128i.
The second thing was that it mentioned the Genesis that I'm becoming a lot more interested in - the 2.0T. This paragraph really stood out to me:
"Come late March, you'll also be able to get the 2.0T Track, which combines all of the above
[the track pack items from the V6 version] with the turbocharged four-cylinder engine, or the Genesis R-Spec coupe ($24,500), which is a 2.0T Track, less trivialities like a sunroof, spoiler, foglights, Bluetooth, cruise control, trip computer and metallic interior trim."
Genesis R-Spec coupe? Me likey
The only thing I really didn't like was the performance numbers. With 300hp I expected a 0-60mph time that would be competitive with the Cobalt SS, not a 6.4 sec run that puts it more in competition with the Camry V6.
Seeing as the V6 puts up some mild performance numbers it makes me even more convinced that the 2.0T will be the one to buy...
Time will tell!
