2010 Taurus Spotted (interior too).

I really like this, way to go Ford.

There seems to be an "M" option on the shifter and a pair of paddle shifters behind the wheel. Start Stop engine button is also there.

It looks pretty promising. It shows that it's possible to have some sort of 3-bar grill without being ugly.
It's missing the right steering column stalk though.

As far as I can remember, the Taurus never had a right column stalk, they concentrate all in the left one.

A bit....like a super modern version.  Its not awe inspiring in the camo...but its pretty competitive.  Whats it competing against I want to know.  Avalon?

you are being so generous.  and ford thinks they are going to compete with the accord and camry with this?

I don't think so. That would be the Fusion. The competition would be with the full-size cars - Avalon, Impala.
Personally, I don't think the full-size market is that significant anymore since the mid-size cars are so big now, but I might be wrong. I see a lot of traditional domestic customers in the US wanting the biggest car they can get. The difference now, is that Ford is giving them at least a very decent, modern car.

While certainly an update, I'm a little disappointed thus far. Reminds me of a swollen first generation Infiniti M. And hope the interior keeps most of the room, while I'm sure the trunk will judging by the rear overhang. Granted camo does a good job of ruining what could be a good look.

Indeed...the new Fusion didn't look that special until the camo was taken off and I think it looks brilliant now.  So this could be the case as well.  I'm just not sure how popular this segment is.  The large mid-sizes are perfectly sized right now...they shouldn't get any bigger (I'm hoping) but this is a fair bit larger.  Definitely safe and more efficient than a SUV if all you want is a large vehicle but I'm not sure what the goal is here.  I think Toyota may even axe the Avalon leaving just the Impala.  Are there any other full sizes?

Of course with very little competition and a reasonably competent entry it may work out in Fords favour.

I wouldn't call the Camry and Accord styling triumphs.

I don't think that 3 spoke steering wheels are a good match for big sedans.
