I've always been super skinny, high metabolism. I was 125 until this last year, American food and all this yard work has had me gaining a bit of weight - not that I am complaining  :rofl2:

Been wanting to get a nice carport for a couple of years now before buying that sports car in 2025.  Saw this show up on the Costco website a few months ago and was hoping to see it go on sale at some point.  Finally did so I pulled the trigger.

https://www.costco.ca/arrow-12-ft.-x-20-ft.-x-7-ft.-carport.product.4000255091.html

They also have a 20X20 version and a taller version that I think is designed for campers and RVs.

What base are you putting that on? I've thought about the same to get some extra covered parking as a temporary measure, but don't really want it on my driveway and I don't think it would do well if it isn't anchored to concrete or similar.

We will be putting it in the paved driveway portion beside our house.  It comes with anchoring setup that can be used in pavement, but I'm not 100% sure which route I'll take.  Right now I'm leaning on possible cutting some holes in the pavement, digging down a couple of feel, drop in some concrete tubes, cutting it off so it's straight (not level as the driveway slopes) and as close to even with the existing pavement and then anchoring it to those.  I've also thought about just putting some big concreate pavers at each end corner and bolting them to those (around 70lbs per).  Lastly I could just drill in some anchor mounts onto the concrete foundation to the house and chaining it to there, that would allow it not to move too much but more than the other two option I feel but it would eliminate it from any chance of it taking flight and rolling over.

I'm likely overthinking it a bit as it is rated for 100mph winds as is with the anchoring provided, and it being in a space between 3 structures it's shielded from the worst of the winds.

Honestly, anchored to the pavement and between two houses, you're probably fine. I don't see a reason to go overboard.

That's kind of my thinking.  I'll see how much motivation I have after putting it together to see which route I'll take.

Well, the 10 tonnes of gravel wasn't nearly as big of a deal to move as I had anticipated....Took about 3.5 hours. It arrive last night, so after dinner the whole family went at it, and with both of us hustling we knocked out about 1/4 of it, even with the kids limiting productivity. This morning was fortunately probably the coolest day we've had in months (25C) so I went it alone, started at 10am and by 12:30 I was hosing down the driveway. Hard heavy work, but it moved pretty quick. Tomorrow I'll spread and level it out.

Ordered an 8'x12.5' shed from Costco last night, hopefully it'll be here for next weekend.

Last night

Almost done...

Done!

Good job bud.  I did a bunch of this also, but the distance from my driveway to backyard is much shorter distance.  Rewarding work though, seeing all that rock moved.
