You pulling the floor?
It's currently bare cement.

Those marks are the old tile lines.
lol I looked on a phone. My first thought was " those are some grubby tiles".  ;D

Ha!  That's the most creative use of a Scotty rod holder I've seen.

I'm going to make a plate so I can mount both rods, I think.

Good eye, man! That is a Scotty!

How's the scooter ride? Looks like you actually have a bit of suspension

New "smart" toilet install today. This is a significant upgrade from my previous bidet seat only.

The heated seat is crazy good! Auto lid and seat raise/lower+auto flush is slick!

A nice upgrade.

You are not concerned that your muscles will atrophy by not having to flush the toilet?  I just spent $10 each  on my 25 year old toliets with a new float/fill mechanism. That should hold them for another 25.  ;D

Smart toilet, new floor, paint

Like most heated things (seats, steering wheels, floors) once you've experienced a smart toilet, it's tough to leave Asia and come home.  ;)

I've always had bidet seats...but this is my first complete smart toilet/bidet.

I can't go without a bidet seat...And this is even better!

But to your point...I also have a Japanese soaking tub (Ofuro) going in that bathroom, so I guess we're "all in" on the Japanese bathroom concept.

Man, I just can't get behind the bidet/smart toilet thing....Tried them in hotels and it's just weird to me. If you enjoy it though, then why not, looks like a nice unit. I assume you installed that outlet right next to the toilet specifically? Whats with the second outlet in the same spot on the opposite wall?

Like KTM, I recently bought a few $10 "FluidMaster" valve & float assemblies, and a bunch of braided supply lines, and went around and freshened up all the toilets in our place. I was worried about the 15+ year old supply lines, and the original valves were pretty loud.

The second outlet is for the soaking tub. It's aerated. Just forward of that plug you can see the water connections for the tub.

Not sure what you mean by "weird"?  The toilet part is "better"..even more hygienic. There's no need to touch the toilet. Raises/lowers seat automatically and flushes automatically. Barring that, you can operate the toilet flushing with your toe (you can see button near floor) or you can use the remote. Or, if feeling old school nostalgic...use the regular flushing button on the side like a "normal" toilet.

Or did you mean the bidet/washing function? Yes, that might take getting used to...having water lightly sprayed (this one is oscillating) on your ring. But as you know, "washing" with water cleans things better than smearing with toilet paper.

Oh..And there's also a blow dryer for your bum! Which I'm not sold on yet as I think it takes too long (it took 4 minutes during my time trial).

I just don't have this burning desire to mess with what works. In my own house, the toilet is clean, so I am not bothered by touching the seat or the handle. The water spray just ain't my thing.

Interested in seeing the soaking tub though. Our new place has one of those big jacuzzi deals, Mrs.Firm has been using it and loving it...Also not my kinda thing.

You clearly referenced hotel toilets, so I'm not sure why you're referring to your personal toilets now? My "hygiene" comment was in reference to your hotel toilet. Not having to touch a hotel toilet is a good thing! Unless you bring your toilet cleaning supplies with you? :)

I rather enjoy a good soak due to my perpetually aching body. But never wanted to pull the trigger for a full size outdoor Jacuzzi..mostly because it would just be me using it.

So this will be a good. Allows water to be up to your chain while maintaining a compact footprint. It also has a shower wand so you can give yourself a sitting shower.

I'll get pics up once that's in.

The floating sink/vanity is next.

I recently bought a few $10 "FluidMaster" valve & float assemblies.

went to buy a replacement FluidMaster for one of the toilets and the guy a Lowes recommended the Korky over the FluidMaster, never heard of them but gave it a try. Simple install, really quite, I'm sold....

I think instead of a blow dryer I'd rather a exhaust vent, get those poo poo odors out the house.

Looks similar, but a little slicker, more robust maybe. Will have to give it a try next time.

Well, I am not gunna be replacing hotel toilets, so any consideration for a fancy unit would be in my own home.....

It's the public toilets where I really hate handling anything, but the idea of a public bidet is a big turn off as well.
