I too am interested in getting one for the wife, but those units seem to low priced to be truly good.  Let us know who it works out.

They should build them into vehicles as an option.  Although that presents a lot of of other issues.

I agree.  The rear cams are already there!

That's what I admired about Teslas.  All those cameras particularly the side ones.  So many times morons have entered my lane right beside me and if I had not of moved over a bit we would have touched.  In cases like that 90% of people would deny that they are at fault so you end up with a 50/50 in Ontario which is the same as an at fault.

I'm looking for a basic, front facing, top tier camera in terms of image and ease of use?

Anyone?

^^^ They ALL suck, generally.

This guy reviews a bunch, tells you which ones suck less.

And yeah, other carmakers should follow Tesla's lead, and install them on vehicles.  Even it's part of an upsell package, or a higher trim, it would be a start.

Further to that, the Tremor has the surround system so why can't Ford run all those cameras thru a recording device built into the dash.  Install SD and remove SD at will.  Although in my case all those cameras are covered in dirt and salt for a good 4 months.  But the point remains.  It's all set up in many vehicles.

Ideally I would be satisfied if the makers would just install a camera with all the other crap up behind the rear view mirror or at the very least install a usb slot so the dangling wire issue is solved.  I don't care for a wire draped over the dash.

Does no one think at these companies.  :P

I've got a viofo (A119 I think) on both vehicles, they've been good. Used to hang a cheapy one off the rear view mirror but that doesn't work on the newer vehicles so these go on the windshield. Wire goes under the floor mat and gets tucked into the door trim/headliner

They make a dual version, or you could just hang up two singles for front/back

They should build them into vehicles as an option.  Although that presents a lot of of other issues.

I got overwhelmed with all the options and reviews.  There's too many choices so I just when ahead and bought  one that had lots of reviews, a card, rearview camera, wifi and proximity sensor.  Although I'm not sure if proximity work if my car is off and the plug has no power.  It was easy to setup and install. My wires are somewhat nicely tidy and hidden.  If I like it I'll buy a second one for my wife's.

FYI. The resolution is nice, I just reduced the picture to post

Already used it this morning.  It's fairly simple.  Automatic recording when you start and take off so you don't have to do anything.  The buttons functions are easy to remember.  There's a button to the side that can take a quick picture if you want too. Videos are set for either 1,2,3 or 5 minute loop so with the WIFI you can enter the camera and go see the videos or pics you like without downloading the whole card.  The only thing is the sentry recording doesn't work.  You have to buy another wire to hardwire with permanent power, I think it's $30. I might order it later.  I don't feel like figuring this out right now.

Already experienced  road rage in my driveway, entitled pedestrian ;D

Replaced my bum washer on my toilet.

Previous one lasted 6 years but a small part broke with no replacement part available.

It had to be light and portable with self contained fuel tank. Able to lay down on its side without leaking.

Ultimately came down to Suzuki vs. Yamaha.

I thought the Suzuki was as good, if not better. 28lbs lightest on market. Price was the closer for me. With the Instant $100 off plus the sale, I got it for $595 US with free shipping. Did have to pay MI tax..total was $630.75 US  Came to $864 CDN.

Best price in Ontario was $1049 in Barrie. No shipping. Local? $1312.

Suzuki DF 2.5

Boat should arrive tomorrow.

I bought the exact same motor about 8 years ago for I think about $1K tax in.  I sold the boat and for some nutty reason I didn't remove it (kicker) from the boat before I sold it.  I could just kick myself because now I have a grandson which will need something.

I had no trouble with it other than filling it up because I didn't have the proper gas filler and I'd spill the gas all over the water and the slick would drift over to the neighbour.
