Man, no way that would work in Ottawa.  My snowblower can barely move the cement snow we get.

Same for here.  The snow we had on Tuesday was really dense.

I actually enjoy blowing snow. A good blower helps. :)

I'm scared to ask what a blower like that costs....
About $900ish

Almost snowblower cost, eh?
Yeah, our snowblower was like 11-1200 when we bought it.

I would presume that for a light snow, like 5cm or less of soft powdery stuff, this leaf blower probably does the job 1/10th the time of a snowblower.

And likely does a better job to boot. I wonder how well those cordless DeWalt leaf blowers would do for lighter dustings.

Prairie snow is often quite different than Maritime (or southern Ontario) snow.  It often snows here when it's -20C or colder, so the snow is very dry and light.

Yeah I'd say more times than not our snow here is of the wet variety.  It's rare to have snow when it is that cold.

Yeah, most of the snow we've had this year has been at very low temps and is usually also accompanied by wind. Absolutely perfect for a leaf blower. My dads got a 700 series Stihl which I have borrowed a lot in the last few years so I decided to get my own after seeing how great it worked.
Lighten up Francis.....

since we "cut the cord" a few years ago, our downstairs and basement TVs haven't been used (nothing connected)...we decided to try a couple of Amazon 4k FireTV sticks for them...a few friends have them and they seem to work well...we have a couple of older android boxes, but it was nothing but trouble trying to get them to work...don't need anything fancy (like Kodi or whatever anyway)...just something to put some youtube or netflix on if my wife is doing some projects in the basement or whatever...quick and easy is what we wanted.

We've got a fire stick in every tv, what a great way to connect to netflix/youtube/amazon prime/etc....

that's what i've heard...our OLED has some apps built in (smartTV) which we like, so getting those popular apps on our other TVs (not smartTVs) is all we want/need for them...our android boxes are more hassle than they are worth now...i should power them up, factory reset them, and sell them on kijiji or marketplace.

I have the 40v Dewalt and it works great on light fluffy stuff.  We had 4-5 cm overnight but it was wind driven so somewhat compacted.  Took about 10 minutes to clear off our 2 vehicles.

AFAIK, Dewalt has discontinued the 40v version and have replaced it with a 20v version.

Yeah, and I can 'acquire' copies of movies on my PC, and then I use PLEX to stream them to my Roku TV in the bedroom.  I'm sure Plex is available for the firestick, too.

I like Plex, but find it has a hard time sorting TV series.    It says half the series I have are some season of Supernatural, have to play stuff to see if it's the right series, or Supernatural.

What kind of naming convention are you using? I've never had that issue with Plex unless the name of the series is very close to another one.

I remember trying to fix it last year but couldn't figure it out.   I just now looked at season 1, episode 1 of Supernatural,  it gives me two versions, one of which is Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, the other is Stargate Origins, I haven't had season 1 of Supernatural on the drive in a couple of years.   The Expanse seems to show up right now, but I think it was screwy last year when I checked.  Dunno, doesn't affect me much.
Where are settings for naming?

if we were more avid TV watchers and/or didn't have a "cable" subscription, we'd likely explore our options a bit further (maybe we'll change again down the road, who knows)...but to us, using the android boxes was a bit of a hassle...updates, broken links, slow servers, hit and miss audio/video quality...it was ok and we made do for a couple of years, but we decided to go back to "cable"...we don't smoke or drink, so i guess we can use our smoke and booze money for cable.  ;D

simplicity i guess...turn the tv on, hit the guide/recorded list, watch the shows.
