The Asus RT68U is a good workhorse router.     It is available with mesh units to give good signal over a big house.   Unlike many consumer routers it gets regular updates from Asus.  This may not seem important but it shows that ASUS is serious about its products.

Mine is driving 2 PCs, 1 laptop, 1 NAS and two other devices on ethernet  and 2 phones,1 watch, 2 Ipads, 2 Roku sticks, 1 garage door  and a washer and dryer on Wifi. A mix of 2.4 and 5 Ghz.   Handles IPV6 properly, Rogers internet provides native IPV6.

Good description.

Does everything I've thrown at it.

I run Merlin on mine....a few extra features.

And yea, the AI Mesh is simplicity itself.

And their new(ish) phone app works very well indeed.

I am running Merlin as well.

I don't need the mesh but if I did ( unlikely in a 1200 sqft house)   I would probably go with Ubiquiti gear sitting behind a pfsense router/firewall.

I live in a small apartment and have the ubiquiti UAP and the USG Security appliance. I've been very satisfied. The interface is definitely meant for someone who knows what they're doing but it's a great device and I'll get a handful of access points if I ever buy/move into a house.

My parents bought an airfryer from Costco and I was really surprised it was made in Canada.

Let us know how it works. I've been thinking of getting one of those. The Costco price is about $10 less than Amazon right now.

They said it works great and did a trial run of chicken thighs and fries.

To be honest its pretty much a convection oven. Uses a fan to distribute heat.

So, if I already have a convection oven then just use that?

I purchased and installed this door chain the other day for my Mother's apartment door. I notice this warning on the flip side of the packaging. Seemed odd to me. I suppose anything USA made needs these types of warnings for products finished with carcinogens?

I'd say it cooks food faster and crispier in smaller amounts vs. a regular convection oven. Also uses a lot less energy and doesn't heat up the entire house - I hate using the oven in the summer time.

They sell air fryers in all sizes as well.

You could always buy from Costco and return if not satisfied.  ;)

I use the air fryer out on the deck to keep the smoke out of the house.   Thing smokes like crazy depending on what your cooking.  Also keeps grease spattering down to minimum in the regular oven.  We don't use the self-clean feature in our regular oven so using the air fryer for spattery stuff helps keep it from getting too dirty.

Was having an issue with the clothes dryer, it was getting freaking hot & even when it was in the tumble only cycle it was extremely hot. Took it apart & did some trouble shooting and figured out that the heating coil was grounding against the case housing causing it to heat all the time and even the high temperature sensor wouldn't turn it off because it was shorted. Took it apart & bent the coil away from the housing and it's now all good  ;D

Will keep an eye on it & if needed I'll order a new heating coil.

Yeah, it's all good now & functioning properly and the high temp sensor is functioning properly now as I tested it as well. We knew it was acting up so we would never turn it on & leave the house, or while we were sleeping... we'd just take the clothes out & fold it as soon as it buzzed that the cycle was done & wouldn't continue letting it run.

That's the one we have.  My wife dropped it on the floor at least once, that i know of anyway, so it's pretty rugged as well.

My 2 y.o. pool pump started dripping at the end of last season, so I knew the seal was shot - salt build-up as evidence (my in-ground has a salt chlorinator). Pool stores reopened on April 20th (essential service?), so I was able to buy a new seal kit for 10$ (cheapest online was 32$...). Took the pump apart, cleaned everything, swapped in the seal kit, done. Motor bearings seemed fine, so I left that alone for now.

Of course, it snowed this morning and it's -14 C windchill outside...  ::)

When it warms up, I'll hook it up and I'll add some schock to the water to make it blue again.

On to the next project...

Got one of the locomotives I thought was a goner going again this evening.  It’s an H0 scale model of an East German Railways (Deutsche Reichsbahn - DR) class 110 diesel-hydraulic.  It stopped dead one night about a year ago.  Took it apart, cleaned and oiled the gears, cleaned the pick-ups, and most importantly, found a short and sorted it out.  I thought the motor had burned out.
