I bought a very small TENS machine...as recommended by my fav. product test site.

I didn't need it...but thought we'd need it someday

My leg was bothering me today, so I thought...why not.

Geez...this thing is fantastic.  About the size on an old iPhone..it's very small.  And with 24 different massage programs and 2 leads...so 4 total pads.

I highly recommend!

https://www.amazon.ca/Lifetime-Warranty-Stimulator-Massager-Sciatica/dp/B06XXDTC3W/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=tens+machine&qid=1562894637&s=gateway&sr=8-8
We have had a Dr Ho ( it is better because it "as seen on TV"  :rofl2:) for about 15 years , great on sore muscles, also the foot pads are good to use on long plane flights

We've got the 'Ho as well.  It does work

Received my fully adjustable, king size bed base today. All the bells and whistles. Under bed lighting, USB ports, head and foot massage (gimmick), TV mode, zero gravity mode, custom presets, etc

Been wanting one for awhile and the 30 percent off sale in Canada day finally got me to pull the trigger.

Which bed did you get ? Split King ?
We have a single adjustable bed, but now it appears we both need an adjustable bed

No, just a one piece king.

They did have a split king though.
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Re: What you Buy or DIY show off thread - web Security Cams
« Reply #6646 on: September 17, 2019, 02:04:43 pm »
Now i'm running 3 different camera systems at home.

I originally had "Wyze Cam" ordered off amazon, for monitoring my front door from inside and my dog's kennel.

Over the last week, ordered Yi Outdoor cam, more Wyze cam, AND also got Blink XT2 to mount outside the house.

below are Pros and Cons i've found for each.
Wyze cam Pros :
-Cheap.  $40 canadian per camera on amazon
-has great monitoring software.
-customizable motion detection,
-Infra Red led so it can do night vision,
-listen and talk via app to camera
-FREE 12 second video clips saved on "cloud" every time it detects something.
-quick notifications when detection happens.
-connect to camera fairly quickly even when you aren't home

Wyze cam Cons :
-need Wifi (obviously) for every one of the camera.
-not rated for outdoor.  (need a outdoor casing, and even then, it's not really for outdoors)
-Wifi reception is poor outdoor. extra case needed doesn't help.
-IR bulb not bright enough for actual outdoor use at night.
-need to run power.

Yi outdoor cam, Amazon has 15$ off, so it was $90 per piece.
Pro :
-fairly bright IR bulbs.
-customizable motion detection zone,
-camera also makes beep sound when it detects motion within its view.
-Free 6 second video clips saved on cloud when detecting motion.
-Day time video quality GREAT. (only 110 degree wide lense, but it also corrects so less distortion)
-night vision quality is decent probably thanks to greater IR illumination.

Yi cam Cons :
-app kinda sucks.
-notification to phone speed varies so much.  sometimes within few seconds to sometimes longer than 15 -minutes after detection.
-ONLY 6 second clips.  otherwise you have to pay.
-requires constant power. (but 3 meter power cord)

Blink XT2.   got this on a whim.
this is Amazon's subsidiary.
Pros :
-Battery powered.  CORDLESS!!! (supposed to last 2 years.  will see)  you can literally mount this anywhere you want.
-video quality is GREAT during the day.
-Notification to phone is almost instant.
-it communicates with a hub, so excellent WIFI connection not really required, i think. my camera's have poor WIFI but i have no problem connecting with them.  Hub has great WIFI.
-Advanced customizable motion detection
-FREE video clips (configurable on the app, 5 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec) saved on cloud.
-listen and talk via app

Cons :
-Costs higher than Yi or Wyze, but it's one of the cheaper alternatives from big name companies.  like, Nest or Ring or Arlo or what have you.   Blink runs about 120$ a piece, whereas Nest's cam is $300.
-Weak IR so night vision ain't great.
-Battery powered, so you don't want to stream constantly unless you are prepared to change it's lithium battery all the time
-....it's kinda easy to steal...   mounting is really weak, it's a plastic clip.

SUMMARY : each have pros and cons, but i really like Wyze's app, and Blink's outdoor prowess.
both are compatible with Amazon's Alexa as well.
Yi, i like the night vision and the "Beep" it makes when it detects something, but app's not great and it's more pain to install then Blink.

I would go Wyze for indoor and Blink for Outdoor.

Driving thrills makes my wallet lighter.. and therefore makes me faster because i'm shedding weight... :D

Thanks for the post.

Been thinking about mounting outside camera.  Only want it to go wired, and have good night time vision, looking to get 4.  And wondering if I should look for something that can zoom in.  Well have a monitor it goes to.  Wouldn't really use my phone.

But at the same time, you read articles, footage caught of thief, police seeking the guy.  So I haven't really decided.

We finally bought a King bed.  It fills the room, but is totally worth it.  Didn't sleep well last night, as it was the first time on our new mattress, and I'm not used to it.  But at least I had plenty of room.  And we got one of the BeautyRest 'bowling ball' mattresses, so my moving around didn't affect my wife too much.

Our old Malm queen bed (which really isn't that old...5 years?) will go on to be our new guest bed.  We've never had a guest bed before.  I'm looking forward to being able to actually host people at our house, instead of relying on other relatives to do so.

We love our King bed. It's almost like I have it to myself IQ is so small.

On the other hand, she always seems to migrate to my side and I'm left with a sliver anyways! LOL [emoji38]

We added a fully adjustable base this year..pretty awesome!

Glad to see we can start booking trips to your place! :)

I flop around all night and honestly don't know if my marriage would survive a downgrade to anything less than a king mattress.

King is the only way to roll. Going to hotels with a queen mattress is always terrible for us as the wife sleeps in a position like she fell from a high place.
Lighten up Francis.....

Glad to see we can start booking trips to your place! :)

For the past 5 years having people stay overnight was never an option.  We'd have friends pass through the city and have to tell them to book a hotel.  Or family would come to stay for a week, and they'd go stay at my BIL's the entire time.  At least now we'll have the option of hosting people.  Yeah, it's a small guest room and our Queen will fill it, but a bed's a bed, and that's what counts.  And to be honest, our Queen bed is a good bed.  The mattress was a high end mattress, and still good.

Anyway, here's our new bed.  We got a steal on the frame.  It's solid pine with a wrought iron 'sun' on the headboard.  We'd been looking for a new bed for a month or two, and finally this frame popped up Kijiji for $150.  It's ridiculously solid, it'll probably last us for the rest of our lives.  The duvet is just a cheap duvet we bought new from Ikea.  We were starting to feel poor after dropping a couple of grand on the mattress, lol.

The bed is so wide we had to ditch one of our night tables and put a little plastic thing there instead.  Once my daughter's toddler bed vacates the room, the bed will fit a little better.  We'll be looking for solid pine furniture to replace our old bedroom furniture now.  Night Tables, dressers, etc.  Probably on Kijiji, because I'm a sucker for used furniture at a low price.

We should probably start a shared calendar for booking Great_Big_Abyss' spare room. It would embarrassing if more than one forum member showed up at the same time …

Replaced the vents on my dryer and air exchanger yesterday and found these two hornets just inside the air exchanger exhaust vent.  There were also a few smaller ones attached to the inside of the vent cover itself and nest remnants in the intake vent as well.   Not unusual to find them there but never seen this many before.  Wish I could find a vent cover with an access latch for cleaning purposes.

I made a little square "picture frame" out of wood and covered that with door screen.  I put that on my vent.  No bugs can get in.
