, but now I want to try a multitude of recipes that I had never considered before.

Can you elaborate?  I'm sure you have the skill to cook anything under the sun with any type of stove? (gas, electric, etc).

I do understand how the new stove changes the timing (as can certain cook ware).
How fast is my 911?  Supras sh*t on on me all the time...in reverse..with blown turbos  :( ...

Got I hate my ceramic top electric stove,  it takes an hour to boil water.   Even eggs take forever to get the pan warm.

I'd like an induction but I'll wait for the prices to go down.

About 2 weeks ago I returned a Battery Tender given to me as an Xmas gift in exchange for the smallest version of NOCO charger/maintainer (need 12V & 6V). It will be used to maintain the small battery in my son's ATV, the battery in my mom's riding lawnmower, and the 6V battery in my tractor.  I figure I'll hook the unit up to each battery for a week at a time through the winter, alternating through the 3.

I already owned this charger, for more urgent charging duties.

That NOCO is excellent. I have a couple and rotate them around the stored cars through the winter to keep all the batteries maintained.

Tonight I did the "burn-in" with the oven, i.e., ran it for the first time (empty).   I went 400F for an hour and my god... the smoke coming out of the vent in the first 10 minutes was rather alarming (and stinky).

Hopefully, that's the end of the smell.  What was very interesting, compared to the former stove:  no impact on the heat in my place.  Furnace thermostat registered the regular temp.  With the old stove, a 400F heating for an hour would have cranked the indoor temp to at least 2F above the setpoint.  I guess I can thank the better oven door seal technology for that.

My convection fan started when I turned on the oven.  Once it reached 400F, the fan turned off.  This is also very new to me, as my previous POS was not convection.

That doesn't sound right. The fan should always stay on to blow the hot air around the food while it's cooking. That's the point of a convection oven.

I wasn't in convection mode.  This stove has both regular baking and convection baking options.   :)

i think wing is talking about heat ventilation fan?

my oven's not convection but it has fans to cool the heating elements of the regular stove top that's above the oven.   that fan doesn't stop until ovens cooled down.

Ours does that. If you crack the door open it cools much faster. Fine in winter.

Yeah in the winter it's fine.  Last over I had did the same, drove me nuts and no cooktop on top of it so not sure why it does it, but the cooktop cooling makes sense.

Finally finished off all the pieces for my friends formula car.   Just waiting for the chassis to come back from the repair shop now.   Cost about $160 in materials instead of the $2000 he was quoted.

A Corsair RM650i Powersupply.  This one is an 80+Gold efficiency unit, and it's semi-passively cooled to boot.  Load has to exceed 40% of it's rated power output in order for the fan to turn on.  Turns out my components are so damn efficient that the PSU fan never actually turns on.  Ever.  Which means it doesn't make any noise.  Which is important when you're trying to build a system that is whisper quiet.

It also comes with a little monitoring program that you install.  The powersupply communicates with the app and allows you to monitor internal temperatures, and also tells you how much load is being applied to it, and how much power it's drawing from the wall.  Turns out my computer doesn't ever pull more than 200W from the wall even when under load, and merely pulls between 80 & 100 watts when at idle or watching a movie.

^ Pretty cool.  Mine was getting a little loud.  Took the case off on Saturday, vacuumed out all the dust on power supply.  But the major cause was when I removed the fan for the processor, cleaned that up.  Now it's pretty quiet.  Maybe not whisper quiet.  But it's a living room, not a library!  If I hear anything 15 feet away (which I don't) I can always just turn up the volume! HAHA!

I really like those home theatre cases you posted earlier.  My tower is 1/3 empty, and don't like that it's vertical, I lay it on it's side so it fits on the shelf.  Too cheap to spend $75 or more on a case.  It's a micro ATX motherboard, a 5.25" DVD drive, 2 3.5" hard drives, and 1 2.5" hard drive.  The video card is a PCI-E, which should fit in most cases.

Here is one for a little less than the Fractal Design that I posted earlier:
http://www.ncix.com/detail/silverstone-grandia-gd09-htpc-case-82-105435.htm

It won't have the build quality of the Fractal (or that beautiful solid aluminum face) but it fits a standard 5.25" optical drive, and it's a bit cheaper.  Still not $75.  I'm not sure you can find something like this for that.

Thanks for the post, I will keep it in mind.  Will watch for sales.  Like this one, that I missed.

Silverstone Milo ML03 HTPC Black Aluminum SECC mATX 2xUSB3.0 ports

The ML03 probably would have worked.. No stock though.

Actually, that ML03 probably wouldn't have worked.  This really depends on your graphics card.  That case is a slim height case, and only fits low profile graphics cards like this one:

Low profile cards are usually very low power, and only really ever good for media and very light gaming (like Angry Birds level of light).  I'm assuming that the graphics card you have is a standard height graphics card (like 95% of the cards out there) and therefore wouldn't fit in that ML03 case.  Honestly if you go that route you're just better off using the integrated graphics that come with all modern motherboards and processors.

I could be wrong though.  Maybe you DO have a low profile graphics card.  But it's something to keep in mind before you choose a case.  You don't want to choose a case that would force you to buy a new but crappy video card.
