I really think you'd want a 1/2 in impact for that.

I'm envisioning it being used for a deck and some drywalling in the basement.
Yep. As a screwdriver they are great. But you can get an adapter I suppose from the hex to half inch. Lug nuts are torqued at around 90 lb. Can you try one and report back?  :D
I have the exact one and it can't reliably undo nuts torqued to 90 lbs.  My cars lugs are torqued to 88 lbs and after few months, the wrench is lucky to get 1 out of 5 undone.

I usually just use breaker bar to break them lose, then use the wrench to get them out.  Makes for relatively easy change over.

I agree they're definitely better tools.  But for my needs I couldn't justify the $100 price difference.

Then again, I might be posting about my new Dewalt set in a year if it doesn't work out.

I bought the same set a few months ago, haven't really been able to give them a true test.

If you're doing any significant amount of drywall, Princess Auto usually has refurbished Makita screw guns for $70.  I bought one and it has worked good so far.

Me too! I was lucky to get it for $199 at Canadian Tire.  After lots of use, and using it roughly, the first 3 years have been great.

Somehow I got it in my head that I need to buy an RC truck. I've been obsessing over it for weeks, but can't decide what to get. It makes no sense, because what I want is pretty spendy for the amount of time I actually expect to spend playing with it. Basically, I'm more interested in building the kit than I am in playing with the truck (but still plan on playing with it for a bit until I get bored :) ).

So, the two contenders:

Tamiya Unimog kit:

Pros - cheaper, Unimog!!!
Cons - less fun to build, less fun to drive

Axial Wraith kit:

Pros - more fun to build, more fun to drive
Cons - expensive, looks kind of ridiculous

Money's in the bank, lolz. Hard part is deciding.  :-\

^^ I vote for the Axial.  You're looking for something fun to build and like you said this would be better.  In addition, once built, the Unimog would be a bore, while the Axial looks like it'd be a lot of fun.

I know - I think that's probably the way I'll go, but the coolness factor of the Unimog is hard to beat. Even if I get bored with driving it, I'll never get bored of looking at it.  :-\

^^ Lol. I'm nowhere near that hardcore. Just want a simple toy to play with and maybe chase the dogs around the back yard.  ;D

I used to build RC cars.  I still have my very first Tamiya car I ever built somewhere.  But later, I built a Kyosho Scorpion (electric) and after that a Kyosho Inferno (nitro).

Was all the same to me.  And the nitro car wasn't all that much more $$.  However, I've no idea if the nitro cars nowadays can be scratch built or if they come RTR.

Either way....building this cars was a find childhood memory.

^^ cool! I built a Tamiya Grasshopper back in the day and have fond memories of that. Maybe part of the appeal of getting another Tamiya.

But I never got into RC big time as a hobby, so don't see it happening now for me either.

I think electric has come a long way now, too. Buddy of mine has an electric RC helicopter that is completely sick - T-Rex 550. But there is still some appeal to burning actual fuel, I agree.

Also, these are rock crawlers, so mostly about low speed and crawling over obstacles. Don't think there are many (if any) nitro rock crawlers around. Big torque at low RPM that you get from electric should be ideal for these.

I remember the Grasshopper!!  That was almost everyone's first RC car.  That and the Hornet!  Remember that one?

There are a few nitro monster trucks.  But they might be RTR.

And yea, electrics have come a long way.  I say an electric boat that was crazy fast!  Rooster tails and all!

I was thinking about Tamiya cars the other day, I used to have one too, want to get the kids something similar.  Are Tamiya still up to the job, or are those ready built Traxx ones better value for money?

So my wife and I decided to quit smoking about a month and a half ago by using vape, its worked like a charm. I started with this rig and various flavors of ejuice with 12mg of nicotine:

I've now moved up into something a little better as I find bigger clouds more satisfying. I'm now at 0mg of nicotine:

Overall, highly recommended, easiest way to stop smoking, no pills or parches and relatively cheap.
